Title: Suggest Famous Studs for 2021
Post by: Shanthi on November 12, 2016, 10:00:30 AM
Our current list are still active for 2017 in real life, so all are eligible to remain at stud.

Deep Impact
Invasor
Bernardini
Curlin
Blame
Dunaden
Sea the Stars
Animal Kingdom
Frankel
American Pharoah

Please suggest any other studs you'd like to include in polling for who will stand in 2021.

Rules:
- Must be aged 12 or younger - 2005 as the oldest year of birth (we'd like to keep them around for some time)
- Must be a "standout" candidate for some reason - multiple Gr 1 wins, unique bloodlines, etc (must be a stakes winner of some sort in real life)
- Must not duplicate existing game bloodlines too much (e.g. no sons of famous studs already in the game, etc)

Please list more than just their name - give their pedigree, race highlights, etc. Make your case - why should they be in the game?

FROSTED
2012 dapple gray stallion
Tapit x Fast Cookie, by Deputy Minister
Enters stud next year

Closest FF relatives are Deputy Minister as the damsire, with A.P. Indy and Unbridled in the 4th generation but these two would not be obvious in Frosted's immediate pedigree in FF. In-game Deputy Minister only had 16 foals with 6 being daughters capable of passing on the line.

19 Starts: 6 - 6 - 2, $3,972,800

At 2: 2nd Remsen S. (G2, 9f)
At 3: Won Wood Memorial S. (G1, 9f), Pennsylvania Derby (G2, 9f); 2nd Belmont S. (G1, 12f), Holy Bull S. (G2, 8

Kingman (http://www.juddmonte.com/stallions/kingman/default.aspx)
2011 - 16.1h bay stallion
Invincible Spirit x Zenda (Zamindar)

Excelled over a mile on turf. Raced 8 times - 7 wins, 1 second. Winner of the Group 1 Prix Jaques le Marois, Irish 2000 Guineas, Sussex Stakes and St James Palace Stakes, two group threes and a maiden race. 2nd in the Group 1 English 2000 Guineas. Highest rated European trained horse in 2014. Entered stud in 2015, eldest RL foals are yearlings next year.

Pedigree wise he has Northern Dancer in the 4th and 5th generations, Mr Prospector in the 4th and Secretariat in the 5th but hopefully far enough back to be a nice enough outcross. His sire Invincible Spirit was himself a Group 1 winner (sprint distances) and has sired several stakes winners besides Kingman. His dam Zenda won the French 1000 Guineas. (Grandsire Green Desert was also a sprinter. Zenda's sire Zamindar was a miler by Gone West and a full brother to champion European miler Zafonic - I suspect the RL Kingman's foals will show plenty of speed).

I've hyperlinked his name to link to the Juddmonte Farms page about him.

Two copy and pasted from last years thread

Uncle Mo (Indian Charlie x Playa Maya / Arch) (http://coolmore.com/stallions/uncle-mo/?farm=america) 2008

8 Starts: 5 - 1 - 1, $1,506,000
He had a short career, but I think he's famous... and he already produced some champions. From Coolmore's page:

Winner of the Breeders

I'm probably gonna be happy with Frankel and American Pharoah so don't really have suggestions this year... but I like Uncle Mo! For his name :P

So many "Mo ..." opportunities for names.
