Title: R.I.P. Highland Magic
Post by: Smylie on July 10, 2017, 01:54:25 PM
It is with great sadness that we announce that Highland Magic is running in greener pastures today :'(. Bred by Diamond Dew Farms and sold 3 times in his career finally ending up at The Grey Stable.
He raced against and beat some very good horses in his day.  First on the dirt as a 2 yr old and then to the steeplechase course as a 3 year old, the likes of which were, My Lucky Day, Akhetnatan, Magic Cross and Worth the Wait.
From his first 4 crops of foals he produced stallions Spock and Ace of Hearts. After that time mares like Airgead Draíocht, Alakazam among a host of others. Other notables still active today include, Hogsmeade, Exoskeleton and Secret Handshake.
He made an impact. He left a legacy. It's all you can ask for.....

Sorry to hear this Myles. He certainly made an impact on the course and in the shed.

I'm sorry to hear of his passing. He was quite an influence in the game and his lineage will thankfully live on through several of his sons. I own a pair of 3yo Highland Magic daughters who are coming into their own, as well as grandfoals via standing sons and various daughters.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We at Desert Wind Stables have one 2 yo daughter out of Fool's Gold. She has broken her maiden in her second race. We have high hops for her both on the track and later as a broodmare.
