Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on February 19, 2004, 07:00:35 PM
Hey guys,

What fun/cool things would you like to see in FF?  Already on the list (I may be forgetting some things, I know I have a really long to-do/wish list for FF stuff):

-Viewing races (in Flash) -- Note: This will not happen for a LONG time, so don't hold your breath ;)
-User preferences (this is a long list, so I won't list them, but eventually you'll basically be able to customize FF/your stable however you like)

I was also thinking of incorporating an articles section, where members could post articles (that would probably need to be reviewed, only so that we don't get random people wandering by and submitting stuff that's inappropriate).  Then FF could have its own "live" newsletter kinda thing.  Any ideas/comments on that?

Any other cool ideas?

 Newsletter sounds cool. My

brain isn't working so I can't think of anything else. Oh! A search for races feature. And

you have criteria so say search for a turf race at 10-12 furlongs GII. Sound good?

 Yeah, but that's not "fun."

That's "functional."  :P  I already have a list a mile long for functional stuff.

 Yah an newsletter, thats a

good idea!

 OHHHHHHHHHH... See, I just

think everything about FF is F-U-N! :D My bad...

 Hmmm......I always thought

little match races between some of FF's greats would be fun.  Like horses that couldn't

really race against each other when/if they did race.  Like a sire race (Highland Rogue vs.

What's It Worth) a broodmare race (Seeing Starz vs. That's Debatable) and any other horses

that we've always been curious as to who would win (Highland Raven vs. ANYBODY-LETS SEE IF

WE CAN BEAT THAT MARE!!)

Other than that a Newsletter would be awesome and even the

functional things are fun!

A betting page would also be

fun.  Somehow, according to stats, the computer would generate odds and we could just go to

the page which has the final post parade listed and bet money. Quick, easy and fun!

 Yeah I like the betting

thing. That sounds cool.

i think sumthin were we can

see all the stables and we can and descriptions and locations ect... not real fun but i

always wonder who is still playin...

 Yeah, I've been toying with

the betting idea for a while, but haven't really wanted to get into that, since I have a

feeling it wouldn't really be able to be advertised as a "kid friendly" kinda game if

gambling were involved...

Trevor, I've got the backend setup for a page

listing stables and such, I just haven't gotten to setting up stuff where you can type in

your own stable description/website URL/etc.  That'll be part of the "user preferences"

stuff.  :)

I see what you mean but kid

games like Neopets ( neopets.com ) have betting in them and they are specifically designed

for the very young.  In neopets they have these little animals that race and you pick one

that you think will win and get money if they do and lose money if they don't.  They also

have all kinds of another gambling in that game like rolling the dice etc.

Just an FYI

Yeah, or you can put an age

restriction on the betting. Hehe, 18+! :P I like Trev's idea cool. And it should advertise

all the awards the stable has won, so I can try brag some more! :) But yeah, the betting

thing could work somehow, though how would you work the odds out? It'd be cool too if on the

post parade there was a 'form' section showing the last 5 starts or 4 starts or something.

Like say... 1111 would be four last wins... 2172 would be a second, a first, a seventh and a

second... 0090 would be a tenth or worse, another one, a ninth and another tenth or worse

[now that's a bad horse! :P].

I was just thinking of some

stuff that would be fun to add to FF and was thinking of maybe having some way of "caring"

for our horses.  Like being able to groom, feed, walk, and maybe even being able to buy them

supplements n'stuff.  Like maybe instead of haveing a yearly stable matenance fee it would

be monthly or even weekly and we would have to buy the right amount of feed for that time

period.  This would be more realistic since sometimes we don't have the same amount of

horses in our stable at any one time.
And maybe to improve/irritate a horses mood we could

groom them, so we would have to experiment to find out what they like best and be able to

know them more.  Oh, my!!! And then there could be a little dialoug to tell us how the horse

is feeling/acting after we "care" for them. :)  Just an idea. :D

 Hehe, I don't know that

we're likely to end up getting THAT detailed.  But it would be neat if we had

"personalities" for the horses or you could play with them a bit more.  Putting in a vet so

you can check on horse soundness and energy is on the to-do list, so maybe eventually

they'll get personalities.  Just a question of making them personalized enough so that

there's a wide range of personalities.  But it's something fun to think about.

Oh, oh, oh, I have another

idea.  How about after a horse races a new picture on the horses page shows up.  For example

if they came out of the race clean and happy the horse will be clean and happy, if they were

hurt maybe the leg that they hurt will have a cut or bandage or may be lifting the leg up, or

if it was a muddy day and the horse is really tired he will have mud on him and his head will

be drooped a little bit.  I think that would be really neat and then eventually it would be

cool to have buttons to click to choose to give them a bath (after a muddy race), put a

bandage on their leg (that they hurt in the race), or even litament after a hard day and

wraps overnight.  Then the page would reload with a new picture of the horse happy and clean.

:)  And it would be cool if when the horse is sound again after he hurts himself if the

bandage magically disapears and he's sound. So then we could check on our horses to see if

they are sound before we decide to race them agian.  I thought this might be easier to do in

the mean time before we can talk to vets and trainer about their soundness.  What do ya think

now??? :D
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: JasonCameron on March 08, 2004, 02:21:11 AM
Yeah I think something with a

horses face showing whether it wants to race or is tired or something like that would be

kinda cool.
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Andrea on March 08, 2004, 02:45:24 AM
 Pictures are much harder to

do than words, actually ;).  I'll make doing a vet-check thing a priority along w/ retyping

viewhorse while I'm home over break.  I'm hoping to do a lotta real horse stuff, but we'll

see how the weather cooperates and my mom swears she shouldn't be on the computer since

she's studying for her master gardener class ;).

I think if you do a betting

thing, the age limit should be lower :)  Since I'm 14.....
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on December 13, 2004, 01:26:20 PM
 If/when I do betting, there

won't be any age limit, I'll just have to put a disclaimer of some sort up saying that

it's not real money and to not bet more than you can afford to lose.

Okay sounds good!  Oh, and I

also really like the idea of being able to see other players' stables.  I really like

looking at how other people are doing (I'm kinda nosy ;)).  Love all the ideas you

mentioned.
Title: Fun Features to Add?

 All the injury discussions

got me thinking it would be cool if you could have a "vet" visit to give a prognosis on a

horse's injury. It could be a little "GOT-like" in that it wouldn't be perfect, but would

be indicative...."ready to go" or "2-3 more weeks" etc. Of course the vet visit would cost

money, so you would want to use it wisely.
Title: Fun Features to Add?

 We've been thinking about a

vet feature, but haven't had time to implement it.
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: hollyh1125 on June 02, 2005, 06:05:27 PM
 Yay, I think I've thought

of a fun feature!

How about a feature on the individual horse pages were we can see who

has owned that horse so we can see how many times that horse has been bought or sold. I think

it would be cool cause then there would be a documented history of each horse.  Where he/she

has been how long they were there and how much they were sold for.  What do ya think?? :)
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: SRFVirginia on June 02, 2005, 08:20:12 PM
 yeah, i've been wondering

about a feature like that for a while now...i just never got around to suggesting it  ;)

i

think it would be nice.  and maybe how long they've owned the horse. This would be helpful

so we can know whether the owner has had it for more than six months if we're considering

making an offer.
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on June 02, 2005, 09:11:07 PM
 I've thought about adding

this, but (like everything else) haven't had time yet.

The only slight complication in

this is how to track it, as when stables are deleted, their budgets are deleted as well, so

that would likely mess up some horses' sales histories.  (Not to mention that the horses

automatically revert to FF, FF doesn't officially "buy" them, so that would be another

ocmplication.)
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: hollyh1125 on June 03, 2005, 02:39:42 AM
 hmmm....couldn't it be like

how the breeders line is.  There are horses that have been bred by stables that have

disipated and they are still listed as the breeder.  I think that it would be okay that FF

would be listed as an owner if the horse reverts back to FF.  I'm thinking something simple

like just a list of where the horse has been and for how long...and if that seems simple see

how hard it would be impliment the sold amount.  Thinking...:)
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: hollyh1125 on June 03, 2005, 02:48:36 AM
 Like a sample would

be....

Born at Rainbow Ranch 4/05/2007
Sold to Cirque Du Soleil Stables 6/29/2009 -

$25,000
Sold to Stillwater 5/19/2010 - $50,000
Sold to Central Coast Lodge

7/04/2010 - $50,000
Sold to FF 10/30/2011 - $0

The $0 dollars could

indicate that the stable had either liquidated or has given the horse to

FF....thoughts?

P.S I used stables names as they came to me...;)
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on June 03, 2005, 02:52:06 AM
 That's because "Breeder" is

a constant for every horse, and is stored in the database.  "5th Previous Owner" is not a

constant for every horse, and is not store in the database.

Plus, consider the following:

5 stables (A-E) own 1 horse throughout its life.

Stable A breeds the horse, sells it when

it's 6mos old to Stable B.
Stable B owns the horse until he's 2 1/2, then quits the game

and the horse reverts to FF.
Stable C joins and gets the horse as a starting horse, keeps

him until he's 4.
Stable D buys the horse at auction before quitting, and the horse reverts

to FF again.
Stable E gets the horse as a starting horse.

If we go with "FF is the

default owner", then it would appear that the horse was owned by FF from 6mos-2 1/2, and age

4 to when Stable E joins.  Given how FF races its horses (with no rhyme or reason ;)), it

would appear that FF owned him for 95% of his racing career, which would be a

misrepresentation of his racing ability (making him appear better if he had a

not-so-successful racing career, or worse if he had a successful career).
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: hollyh1125 on June 03, 2005, 02:58:12 AM
 Well when Stable C joined

the line would be something like

Sold To Stable C for $0

(That would by default

mean he was a starter horse)

Am I understanding correctly??

Yes I see now about the

breeders line...not the same. :)

I think that if $0 dollars shows up in any of the

lines there would have to be an understanding that it didn't mean he was given away but

either a starter horse, or part of a stable quiting.

Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: hollyh1125 on June 03, 2005, 03:04:33 AM
Oh okay wait, with the info

you gave me this is how it would look in my idea.

Born at Stable A
Sold to Stable B
Sold

To FF
Sold To Stable C
SoldTo Stable D
Sold To FF
Sold To Stable E

I didn't put in

dates cause that would take to long for now. :) I think that this feature would be used more

to see where the horse has been and for how long than to use as a value reference.  Obviously

a starter horse won't cost anything and a stable quitting isn't going to "sell" the horse

to FF.....What do you think?
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on June 03, 2005, 03:14:03 AM
No, since when a stable gets

deleted their budget does as well.

So the actual thing that would show up on the horse's

page would be:
Bred by Stable A 1/1/06
Sold to FF 6/1/06
Sold to Stable C 1/1/07
Sold to

FF 1/1/08
Sold to Stable E 8/1/08
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on June 03, 2005, 03:16:05 AM
 Also, regardless of

if/when/how this works out, prices would not be shown.  It's no one's business but the

buyer & the seller what the horse sold for.
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: hollyh1125 on June 03, 2005, 04:15:31 AM
 Oh okay...see I know nothing

about coding as you can tell. ;)  Why is it that if the stables budget is deleted that the

name will not be able to appear on the history page?  And since there won't be any prices on

the page anyway...oh man...lol. Do I just know too little? ;)
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on June 03, 2005, 04:26:22 AM
 Because the only way to

track who buys/sells a horse is with the budget transaction items.  If new stables buy/sell a

horse and quit, then there is no transaction to use.

those 4 years are lost.  See Jason. ;)But yes I see now...is there anyway around that??

 As Andrea said,

no.  It is a cool feature, it was already considered before you

brought it up, Holly, and the reason that it hasn't been implemented to date is that it

would be a major undertaking to keep track of in the database.  It might happen in the far

distant future, but until then, don't hold your breath, and please stop posting about how it

should be easy to do.
Title: Fun Features to Add?

When you want to bring it

up, give yourself the choice between it and jockeys/possibly graphics for racing next year...

can't/won't do nifty features that involve changing DB organization w/o Shanthi's express

is discussion.  Seems

like myself, Andrea, and Jason have all said "this would be cool, but will also be really

you continue to ask when it will happen and why it hasn't already happened.

    You know, wouldn't it be

cool if we had little contests. Like who designs the best web pages. Like for the webpages,

everybody would be given lets say 2 yearlings, 2 twoyear olds and so on, and one stud.

Everybody would be given the same horses and they would have to design a webpage that is

clean and neat, easy to read, and pretty to look at. Whoevers webpage matches those

requirements best, wins!
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: hollyh1125 on June 03, 2005, 03:33:28 PM
 Oh wow, yeah that sounds

like a really neat idea.  It would be fun to see all the cool web pages.  Lol...i would make

one but I have no clue where to start.  I've never taken any web design classes or anything

of the sort. We could have teams of people who know what they are doing and who don't.  The

people who don't could just make suggestions and give input on how the site looks so far.

Just a way to get everyone involved. ;)  Sounds cool, though!  :D
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on June 03, 2005, 04:04:39 PM
 The idea sounds cool, but

the issue would be judging the contest.  Web site design is insanely subjective...one color

scheme is great to one person and hideous to another, one person loves side menus and one

person hates them, etc.
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Jockey Girl on June 03, 2005, 04:29:14 PM
 Hmmm, you have a point

there. ;) but it would be cool if you did it just for fun.. But with the guidelines

it's hard to go wrong. If you have a nice looking neat webpage, most likely people will like

it. Also white's kind of hard not to like. ;)

Could it be considered for a

color war contest?  We would have to see if there is at least one person on each team that

can make a web page, and you, Shanthi, could give guidelines on what you look for in a good

page.

 Okay... I don't know how

much time y'all have to sit around on a computer designing web pages for random stuff

[Shanthi and Andrea excluded], but I sure as hell have not much time spare. Let alone the

fact that web pages are complicated enough for me without actually having to design one.

;)

So yeah, whilst it is a cool idea to some, maybe think about ideas that can applied to

everyone with relative ease. I would not even bother with this suggestion if it was in the

color war therefore my team would lose out. :(
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on June 03, 2005, 08:46:54 PM
 I'd have to agree with

Jason as far as it being a Color War challenge.  Web design IS "easy for anyone", but only if

you have an editor, which most people don't have.  (Contrary to M$'s popular opinion,

Microsoft Word is NOT a web editor).  Regardless, to get truly "good" design, you need to

code "by hand" (or use some very advanced editor features)...and all of that takes a lot of

time.

If members want to create web pages and post links for other members to critique

them, that's fine.  I don't have time to judge the quality of websites.  At least not if

you guys want race results and all the rest of the stuff that's on my coding list.

with eveeythign running well on ff, a suggestion would be similar to ones before but say have

Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on July 15, 2005, 12:38:52 PM
We have been planning a vet

service for a while, but it would only be to check up on your horse's general health (i.e.

after injury), not required every so often for shots/etc.

I think training/workouts is

enough minute details for the game for now, let alone having to remember vet/farrier.  I have

enough problems remembering for my one real-life horse, let alone for 200+ fake horses.
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Sorceress Edea on July 15, 2005, 02:38:35 PM
Isn't that just the truth.

And shots are expensive, and I'd imagine farrier work for a racehorse would be too. I'd

hate to see how much it would hurt new players who are just building up their

stables.
Heck, I know how much it hurt my family's budget
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on July 15, 2005, 03:35:05 PM
The annual taxes are meant to cover stuff like feed, vet bills, farrier bills, etc.  They're super cheap (as far as the flat rate goes), given that a normal horse costs $5,000-$7,500/year to maintain, let alone a racehorse in training.  ;)  But that's the intent behind the taxes for those.

(And, in case you're wondering, the justification for the 10% rule is that more successful horses require/get more specialized care, better equipment, etc etc, so they cost more per year.)
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: jwstern on August 16, 2005, 04:05:29 AM
This is a modest one....or maybe just a question...when I get my race results I like to go through each race step by step for each race I have a horse in...but if the races are already run, there is no way to figure that out except to know the results, whch ruins the excitement....

So...it would be great if there was either a page, or, right on the race results page, it told you what races your horses were in that day. Even better if on the race results there was a button to skip to next race I had a horse in....

I am sure this goes to the bottom of a long list, but I will throw it in..:-)
Title: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on August 16, 2005, 04:14:44 AM
I'm planning something along those lines, basically a stat box on your stable overview page listing your most recent race results (no finish placings, just race #s and horse names, possibly an overall summary of the day's results for the stable, i.e. 5-0-2-0-1 $105,000).  Likewise with upcoming entries, so that you can see at-a-glance who've you've entered for what day, and whether you haven't entered races for a while.  And finally, another one for breeding, which would list whether you have pending bookings to approve for your stud, or mares who have recently foaled, etc.

It fits into the "user preferences" sectoin on the Master To Do list, but there're about a dozen things in that section that I've forgotten to actually write down.  ;)
Title: Re: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Grace Littlef on August 11, 2006, 05:53:28 PM
my suggestion/question was along that line, it would be cool if there was a button to jump to just the results or the stats (new pages you just did) for the races just your horses are in. Not sure it would be something easily done as yahoo web pages are about as advanced as i get. lol

Title: Broodmare Sire Stat Page
Post by: CascadeJade on October 16, 2006, 09:52:44 PM
While I was looking through different stud's lists of foals seeing what rank, if any, any of their producing daughters had to figure out how nice of a broodmare sire the stud is, I started wondering if, now that the game is old enough to have daughters of studs with raced foals, if we could have a stats page similar to the one for stud's foals, for broodmare sires??

I have absolutely no idea if it would be difficult to code or not, but I guess studs could appear on the list as soon as they have daughters with the status of broodmare and the different stats that would be cool to see could be #/% of Platinum/Gold/Silver/Bronze rated daughters and/or #/% of MSW, SW, SP, winning foals of daughters. Also maybe earnings of foals o/o daughters. There could be other things to add too. Anyway, I think this would be a "fun" feature to add so I decided to see if it would be possible someday :)

I was wondering if there is any way while viewing race forms if there is a way to go to the race that you want to see other than scrolling through all the races which takes forever sometimes.
Thanks. :)

Use the post parade.  At the top of each race table, near where the name of the race is, there is a link  to the racing form for that particular race.  That way you can skip right to the race that you want.

I would like to see the ability to "publish" the racing form.  When you go to post parade and select racing form, it takes awhile to load. (I assume it is querying the database to build the page).  I get impatient while I'm doing my handicapping.

And likewise, when you start from the racing form, it takes a while to load each race.  It would be nice if once the races are frozen, that the racing form be calculated and cached so that we can get all of the races with one click.  It would make handicapping faster  ::).

I know I'm probably just being lazy  :P, but I get impatient waiting for the racing form to load.  I almost wish I had it on paper to look at while I'm reviewing the post parade...

Well I just thought of a fun feature to add due to stupidity on my part....

How about a warning on the stable page that X nominations are closing in X number of days.  I just missed the Breeders Series nominations completely, which closed 3 days ago.  GR! lol. ;)

Lol...I thought some stables other than me might have forgot, and I actually would never have caught it unless I was looking through some BC nomination stuff.  I was like, "Oh, well, while I'm here lets do the Breeders Series horses too." Yeah well, that didn't pan out so well. LOL. :)

Not overly cool or exciting but....

It would be nice to be able to see the name of the jockey who was riding the horse on the horse's "view races" without opening up the chart from that race.  Just a thought :)

Going along those same lines...it would be nice to be able to view race record per jockey, just like you do for equipment, etc.  Again, so you don't have to open all those charts to see who was riding when the horse did it's best...

Didn't notice if this was suggested already... synthetic racing surfaces instead of just dirt and turf?

I can pretty much promise that, if that's ever done, it will not be done anytime soon. Horses already have over 50 stats going into their racing abilities, I'd rather not try and tackle yet another stat just to simulate synthetic racing surfaces.  (Especially since FF's injury rate is way less than the real world.)

Further to this, would it be possible to be able to download the entire days Racing Form as a PDF document? As Rufus said, it makes handicapping much harder when you want to see the form for a particular race and have to wait forever (at least it seems like forever) for the form to load. When you have to do this for 50 races... If we could get the entire days form downloaded as a PDF document, at least we would only have to wait "forever" once each day.

Setting up the racing form data in the database so that it's quicker to load is way more likely than PDF output.  I had to wrestle with PDF stuff at my last job, and it was a major hassle.  Excel output is a lot easier, though. ;)  So that might be possible.

Allowances range from $35,000-$70,000.  If you need cheaper races, try claiming races.

I was looking at some of my retired horses the other day and I was thinking how neat it would be if I could view their actual racing stats (i.e. GOT or Race Preferences).  What I'm hinting towards is I think a fun feature to add would be the option to view a horses actual racing preferences or GOT and Stats like stride length, stamina....etc.  But only viewable after the horse is retired.  I think this would be helpful or interesting to see because we could see if we were racing them the way they preferred or if we were completely off and the horse could have been better.  I think it could be a valuable training aid in that we can compare certain behaviors and effects and apply them in possibly different ways than we are accustomed to. But my basic reason would be just to satisfy curiosity and it would be fun comparing stride length, heart, stamina....etc with other retired horses.

Also, by retired I mean COMPLETELY retired...from breeding and everything.  :)
Title: Re: Fun Features to Add?
Post by: Shanthi on February 02, 2009, 05:45:52 PM
GOTs no longer exist.  And I think being able to view specific stats (like this horse had a stamina of 9.7 furlongs) would take a lot of the realism out of the game, especially when it relates to breeding.  If you can go and see that your foal's grandparents all had staminas of 9.1, 9.4, 10.2, and 8.9 furlongs, you pretty much know exactly how to run your horse.  Whereas in real life, you'd only be able to tell that they ran best at a mile to a mile to a quarter, but depending on how their other stats worked out (if they had a ton of energy that race day, high courage, etc) their race record/finishes may paint a very different picture.

It's not like, in real life, you retire a horse you suddenly go "oh duh, he totally should be running at 7 furlongs, as evidenced by his frolicking in his pasture for 5 minutes instead of 10!".

A couple things that I wondering about - that could make it more realistic - but would require another dimension for programmers..

Jockeys often race out of a home track - if I've been interpreting the results properly, it appears that all jockeys race all over, at all tracks.
Having jockey's race predominantly at a home track with some leeway to travel for stakes races would increase some of the realism.

Having trainers would also add an important element.  It would be a large addition as the trainer could supplement or come up with training routines for those that don't have the time to set programs for all of their horses.  Different trainers would have varying skill levels and you would get what you pay for.  It's a bit of a dream since there would be some level of artificial intelligence to determine suggestions - I guess that's our jobs;  owner/trainers of our stables.

I don't really plan on doing something like this, as that would mean multiplying the number of jockeys we have by a factor of about 50 (as there would need to be at least 28 jockeys available at every single track).  However, I have considered giving stables the option of having their own stable jockey, who would give them first choice for any races their horses are in, and potentially be available for other stables if they have no horses entered.

I can promise that this will never happen ;), as it would turn us into mouse-clicking monkeys if the game gives us a bunch of AI advice that we blindly follow.  However, I do plan on adding an "assistant trainer" sort of option, that would give different feedback than the jockeys give in workouts.  Stuff along the lines of "so-and-so might still be immature", or "so-and-so looks really great on dirt, not so much on turf", or "I tried so-and-so in blinkers and he hated it".

I'm going to set up a request in the bug system as well but just wanted to tell everyone of my intentions as well because I think this feature would be fun.

I was thinking it would be fun to have a button or have a search option to view certain stakes races and the winning horse and stable all the way from the beginning.

That's it. :)

That's planned, except it would search any races. :) So you could search for all races won by Foolhardy (or where he places 4th or something), or all runnings of the Kentucky Derby, etc.

I think there was a topic where we discussed adding more races in the future... I just thought, what if we had another race day only for steeplechase? And two days per week for flat races? Maybe the steeplechase day could have less than 50 races (20? 30?) because there are not so many horses in there, but when we do have them, it's hard to run them as often as the rest...

I like the sound of that. I have quite a few SC horses who are just standing around getting fat 'cause I can't seem to find races to run them in. XD

And another thing: there could be more info on Stable Race Results page (the individual stable results popup that shows after each raceday), for example Owner and Odds... like on the Post Parade page.

I note the requests for more SC races. I don’t tend to have an over abundance of SC’ers so it wouldn’t make that much of a difference to me. If others feel that there is a need for more then that is fine by me

What I would like to see is more Open Allowance races, especially towards the end of the year.  There seem to be loads of NW1/NW2/NW3 races but not too many OA ones.

On another matter, to do with the Training Schedule page. Would it be possible to change a horses Training Schedule directly from one schedule to another? As an example - I have to workout schedules set up, a lighter one for when they are at the Farm for a rest and the other for normal everyday training. If there is a need to change their schedule from one type to the other, currently we have to delete the schedule they are on and then activate the new one.

Consider my curiosity peaked. I didn't think horses trained at all while at the farm? Workout pages show no activity while they're at home.

But I would also love to be able to switch horses from one training schedule to another as more of a dropdown vs. deleting and selecting a new one. Being able to switch horses en masse (almost like submitting nominations) would be amazing, too.

Consider my curiosity peaked. I didn't think horses trained at all while at the farm? Workout pages show no activity while they're at home.

Which makes me think of another definitely *fun feature* to add (but maybe not such fun to code ;) ): what if horses at farm could have different kinds of workout than at racetrack? Or maybe "activities"? Like outdoor riding or longeing or groundwork... perhaps there could be some fee to pay for groundwork, which would increase horse's happiness / Natural Energy / obedience... but there would have to be a horse whisperer hired to do that ;) so we'd have to pay him / her (and there could be a number of them, like jockeys, with different fees etc).
And outdoor riding could change other stats - like horse could become less responsive (amateur / random riders), could get tired without getting fit, etc., but also could become less spooky for example.
The schedule for that could be less detailed than for workouts at track; for example we could just set "3 hours of outdoor riding on Mondays" or "30 minutes of longeing on Wednesdays" or "groundwork session each Friday".

Actually, I used to ride at a riding school which was next to barns for racehorses, and they were separate businesses but at the same racetrack, so often same people worked here and there - and sometimes horses from racing barns were sent to riding school to be "calmed down"... which was dangerous sometimes because clients of the riding school were not always aware that they are riding actual racehorses... and the trainers / instructors probably thought that just the routine of riding lessons and the company of older and calmer horses will calm down the racehorses - which sometimes worked, and sometimes not ;)

I feel this would be quite a monster to code and integrate into the game (and a bit too Horseland with all these additional attributes to code for). Difficult enough to figure out a training/rest system that seems to work for everyone without adding at-home workouts, too ;) . I figured a horse at home is inactive and recharging, sort of in "hiatus" and one less thing for us to tackle until they return to the track. Same for boarding, as they also don't record workouts during this time, and just recharge much slower.
