Horses For Sale / Stable Clearance
« on: April 12, 2015, 05:38:35 PM »
Freedom Acres is offering all horses eligible and not of sentimental value to the owner for sale. Auction runs the week of April 21. There are no reserves. Broodmares (pregnant and not), racehorses, and yearlings included.

I only kept 5 of my broodmares, a few racers, and my stud. I also cannot consign the weanlings yet but they will be in the annual foal auction.

Any horses not sold will be consigned in the annual mixed and/or foal auctions. They have been neglected here at my stable and all deserve better homes.

I'm hoping that if I decrease my workload on this game, it'll encourage me to come back. Thanks everyone.  :)

EDIT: I have to name my babies to be able to consign them, don't I? That's kind of a pain in the butt, lol.

How'd You Do? / 2/12

Day of money! I needed one.

White Picket Fence ran in 7.0f SC Gr. 3 Shirley Jones Handicap for 3yo+ F/M and placed 1st/10. That was an awesome surprise since her only other win is in a NW1.

Secretsofthesky ran in 7.0f NW1 Allowance for 4yo+ F/M (Dirt) and placed 3rd/6. She has an unfortunate habit of being mediocre.

Stari Most ran in 5.0f Ungr. Hollie Hughes Stakes for 3yo (Turf) and placed 4th/10. In a stakes, I'll take it!

Scottish Magic ran in 6.5f Ungr. Dearly Precious Stakes for 3yo F/M (Dirt) and placed 5th/10. Again, stakes, I'll take it.

Foaling Barn / Freedom Acres 2018 Crop
« on: January 13, 2014, 04:28:11 AM »
I didn't have any little ones due for a while, so this guy came pretty early!

Bonjour
NCh. French Ruby x Ch. Hello Goodbye
8.3hh Chestnut
I'm kind of disappointed that this guy arrived so early, because he was bred to be tall, around 17 hands. I can't complain though, because I am excited for his mother as a chaser producer, so I'm just glad that he arrived healthy.

Hello Goodbye has a date with Doodles for 2019

1 colt, 19 to go!

Anything Goes / Trying to make a comeback
« on: October 27, 2013, 04:48:22 PM »
Hey everyone. I've been on a pretty long hiatus because I had a rough summer. My boyfriend of 5 years and I broke up and it was just a mess, and I honestly didn't feel like doing a single one of my hobbies for a few months. I'm trying to pick myself back up though and start doing the things I used to do again, this game being one of those things.

I even debated selling my racehorses since they were just getting underused, but I decided that they would stay with me and I'd get back into it. They just had a nice, long vacation at home together I suppose.

Anyway, I hope I can renew my desire to do things I enjoy again. I've missed you all!  :)

Questions / Two inches above projected height
« on: April 14, 2013, 02:57:39 AM »
So, I became really surprised when I noticed how much taller one of my mares got than I had ever expected her to. She's Gawne is 16.3h and her projected height range is 15.1h to 16.1h. So now I'm curious as to how common it is for a horse to be taller/shorter than their projected height range. Before, I thought that a horse would always be a height within their range, but now I see that's not necessarily true!

Has anyone else noticed a horse fully grown and outside of their height range?

Anything Goes / Just need an outlet for my anger
« on: January 21, 2013, 04:50:19 PM »
So, on the 20th of this month, a warm front and cold front met where I live and the wind was intense. An old tree, the branches of which have fallen on my and my mom's car twice before, really came down on us this time. The miracle is, there were only scratches. Not a SINGLE dent. I investigated everywhere and decided it was a miracle.

So, the tree removers came to take the tree off of my truck. (Mine is the one covered in bumper stickers... and under most of the weight.) I watched them the entire time, and when they started on the big part, I felt like they shouldn't be cutting where they were cutting...

Then that happened. The top (which they luckily tied to the live tree) fell down hard on the roof of my pickup. After my truck miraculously made it out of the disaster with such little damage, just some scratches, this is what they did to it.

As my friend put it, "That is so ironic it hurts."

My windshield that I had bought and replaced on my truck is destroyed. Where there was no damage on the roof, it is now completely dented. My truck had been so lucky, and the removers had to make sure that some damage was done.

Anyway, thank you for being my outlet, because I am just enraged.

Foaling Barn / Freedom Acres' Crop of 2017
« on: January 01, 2013, 07:43:52 AM »
This little girl was due on January 8, but she decided to show up a week early, and luckily not a day sooner!

The Trumpet Calls
NCh. Call to War x Coronet (B)
DOB: January 1, 2017
7.0h Bay
This tiny little angel is out of a broodmare I leased from Darkwood Stables. The naming possibilities for her were insanely obvious! She is named after this World War I propaganda poster.

Coronet will be sent home to Darkwood Stables. Thanks for letting me lease her!

The perfect choice for new players, those in financial trouble, or those who need variety in their bloodlines (purely original Final Furlong bred lines).

This is his last year for the low stud fee! Next year, after he receives a breeding ranking, his stud fee will rise.

Note: He does not require approval, but I am taking bookings pre-season in case you would like to reserve a date for your mare. After the season starts, feel free to just go ahead and send your mare to him without consulting me. I will keep this updated for your convenience.

Anything Goes / Hurricane Sandy
« on: October 30, 2012, 03:53:11 PM »
My prayers go out to anyone who lives on the east coast of the United States, including friends of mine who live in North Carolina, New Jersey, and Long Island.

New York City has been hit hard by flooding.

Power outages are everywhere.

Happy October everyone!

Bold Dreams ran in 5.0f NW2 Allowance for 4yo+ (T) and placed 2nd/6.

I bought Ch. Flight Line because he is the other horse out of one of my deceased mares, Light A Line. Now I have both of her children. He ran in 7.5f NW2 Allowance for 3yo+ (SC) and placed 4th/10.

All Is Holy ran in 13.5f Allowance for 3yo+ (T) and placed 10th/11. I might have to give up because he just seems to be over his prime. What a waste of talent.   :(

Great day!

Ch. Alfresco, the star of my stable, ran in 7.0f Ungr. Bertram F. Bongard Stakes for 2yo (D) and placed 2nd/10! This makes him multi-stakes placed.

Fortunate Son   perked up a bit for his last race. He ran in 5.0f Allowance for 4yo+ (T) and placed 2nd/6. That's the first bit of money he's earned for me! He could actually reach a champion title if he keeps it up for the next few races.

Yayy!  :D

Start the hallelujah chorus! She's Gawne ran in 7.0f Maiden for 3yo+ (SC) and placed 1st/6! After 26 starts, she finally broke her maiden!

My first homebred, Cathedral, ran in 10.5f Allowance for 3yo+ F/M (T) and placed 1st/8! She'll always be my little girl.

Gallant Affair ran in 10.0f Allowance for 4yo+ (T) and placed 3rd/6. He reliably makes money, but just isn't even close to stud worthy. Maybe it's time to geld.

Nautilus ran in 5.0f Maiden for 2yo F (D) and placed 6th/8. Still unplaced.

Three today!

Mixed auction purchase Evil Rumors ran in 6.5f NW3 Allowance for 4yo+ (D) and placed 1st/6. He's 2 for 2 this year. Might be time for a stakes!

Mixed auction purchase Fortunate Son ran in 9.5f Allowance for 3yo+ (D) and placed 9th/14.

Nautilus ran in 5.5f Maiden for 2yo F (D) and placed 11th/12. Still unplaced.
