General/Questions / 2020 Results (Finally)
« on: November 11, 2017, 04:56:03 PM »
2020 results have been processed and people should have been awarded money and the choice of horses. :) Sorry for it taking me almost a year (!) to process things.

General/Questions / Anyone want to manage Stillwater?
« on: March 02, 2017, 09:20:56 AM »
I'm realising that I've been really lacklustre about managing my ponies this year. They've all been running, but I've missed a few race days entirely, and they're not getting the attention they need.

Plus (and this is the big thing), I want to devote FF spare time to working on the beta...otherwise it'll never get written. (She says...6? years later...)

So, would anyone like to manage the barn of 253 (at current count) racing ponies? If so, please PM me. Happy to work out payment of some sort (FF cash, possibly ponies, whatever floats your boat). I may be able to take back over sometime this year, but I'm not counting on it.

General/Questions / TakeMeToHollywood retired
« on: November 28, 2016, 06:56:39 PM »
We're sad to announce the retirement of our stallion TakeMeToHollywood, fondly known as Kermit. Every fall we do a full check-up of our studs after the breeding season, and the vet advised us Kermit may not be able to handle another season. Unfortunately he sustained an injury in the field today, and rather than risk any further damage, we've decided to retire him now.

Thanks to everyone who's sent a mare to him, or bought a foal by him. I hope his final crop in 2021 is healthy and successful.

General/Questions / Suggest Famous Studs for 2021
« on: November 12, 2016, 10:00:30 AM »
Our current list are still active for 2017 in real life, so all are eligible to remain at stud.

Deep Impact
Sea the Stars
Animal Kingdom
American Pharoah

Please suggest any other studs you'd like to include in polling for who will stand in 2021.

- Must be aged 12 or younger - 2005 as the oldest year of birth (we'd like to keep them around for some time)
- Must be a "standout" candidate for some reason - multiple Gr 1 wins, unique bloodlines, etc (must be a stakes winner of some sort in real life)
- Must not duplicate existing game bloodlines too much (e.g. no sons of famous studs already in the game, etc)

Please list more than just their name - give their pedigree, race highlights, etc. Make your case - why should they be in the game?

General/Questions / Breeders' Cup Qualifiers
« on: October 24, 2016, 07:02:27 PM »
There was a bug in the qualifying code, so the list has adjusted somewhat. I think most horses are the same, but you'll want to double check your horses are still qualified.

General/Questions / Ring of Fire Retired
« on: August 10, 2016, 02:41:10 PM »
It is with sadness that we announce the retirement of our stallion Ring of Fire. He's 15 this year and his soundness has been deteriorating for a while. At his most recent monthly vet visit the vet recommended retirement to preserve his joints. He is happy and comfortable and will live out his days on the farm.

Anyone who had mares booked to him for later this month can have a free breeding to any Stillwater stud, either this year or next. Please PM me.

Annual Mixed Auction / 2020 Horses Consigned
« on: July 08, 2016, 09:41:21 PM »
Script has run to add more horses to the auction. Because its copy of the database is a bit outdated, it hasn't picked any yearlings/weanlings, so I'll try and remember to add extra to the foal auction.

Happy bidding. :)
