All bookings have been updated to reflect bookings made directly through our boys' FF pages. Also, don't forget that our boys have always been LFG - while we hope that you never have reason to call upon this service, we offer it as our way of helping in what little way we can. Please do not hesitate to utilize this service if you should suffer a loss by one of our boys.

Not a spectacular day, but we got some great 2nd place finishes:

Places:
Royal Wedding (4yo, Witness) in a NW3 Allowance
Adios Amiga (3yo, I'm Your Angel) in an Allowance
Upswing (4yo, Drum Major) in a claiming race - didn't get claimed
Aberdeen (3yo, Edinburgh) in a NW2 Allowance
Ch. Candycane (3yo, Candidate) in the Sabin Handicap (Gr. 3)
Ch. Wedded Bliss (3yo, Witness) in the Tranquil Star Stakes (Gr. 3)

Ch. With Gusto (3yo, V is for Victory) in the Sham Stakes (Ungr.)

Fourths:
Early Morn (3yo, V is for Victory) in a claiming race - he got claimed. He was a December baby and is truly from my 2YO crop, so he'll probably be a late bloomer. I suspected I would forget this in my management. Hopefully he'll do well for his new owners!
Bridge Crossing (3yo, Unabridged) in a claiming race - didn't get claimed

Fifths:
Nina Ricci (3yo, I'm No Fool) in a maiden
Stellar Victory (3yo, V is for Victory) in a NW1 Allowance

We're really struggling to get our win % back up to "normal" lately. There is still a large percentage of our racers that we still haven't figured out quite yet - maybe that's contributing to it?

Wins:
Splash O'Whiskey (3yo, Irish Gold) in a NW3 Allowance
Never A Fool (3yo, Foolhardy) in a claiming race - I couldn't resist her pedigree, especially at only $5k
Ch. Unmoved (3yo, Unabridged) in an Allowance

Places:
Tell Mama (3yo, TakeMeToHollywood) in a NW1 Allowance
Gentle Giant (3yo, Giant's Causeway) in a NW2 Allowance
D'Nesh (3yo, Belanso) in a NW3 Allowance
Glossy Reason (3yo, Void) in a Starter Allowance
Lake Como (3yo, Bellagio) in the Old Hat Stakes (Ungr.)

Shows:
Arrogant Heat (3yo, Invasor) in a NW2 Allowance
Naval Port (4yo, In The Navy) in a claiming race - he wasn't claimed
Strut Your Stuff (3yo, Strider) in the San Vincente Stakes (Gr. 2)

Fourths:
Swirlaway (3yo, V is for Victory) in a NW2 Allowance
Callgirl (3yo, Count Me In) in a NW3 Allowance
Count Your Gold (5yo, Count Me In) in an Allowance
Grecian God (3yo, Foolhardy) in a NW2 Allowance
Ch. Cignificant (4yo, Magic Cross) in the Strub Stakes (Gr. 2)

Fifths:
Eternal Void (3yo, Long Live The King) in a maiden

Ghostheart (4yo, Ghostzapper) 6th in an Allowance
Vivacious Fox (3yo, V is for Victory) 6th in a NW1 Allowance

Questions / Re: Training Schedule
« on: January 31, 2018, 06:29:08 pm »
Ok, that makes sense. I knew that was how it used to be. Am I crazy that I thought you'd said this was a feature you were working on or at least hoping to add in future?

I recently added a second training schedule for horses that no longer need frequent training (i.e. jockey already knows like back of hand, know running preference, and found equipment they love). I guess I'll need to reevaluate this - maybe put more horses on this, and remove training altogether for horses that don't "need" it, maybe.

Questions / Re: Training Schedule
« on: January 31, 2018, 05:37:09 pm »
I've been using this same training method for the past 4-5 years and have only recently seen (what seems like) an uptick of injuries. A lot of these racers are descended/related to the ones I had during that time period so I would assume genetics are similar (though obviously not quite the same).

Additionally, all my horses went back to the farm to rest for a month around October/November, so NE isn't tip-top but it shouldn't be abysmal quite yet. I check jockey comments before each race to try to make sure NE is up to par (plus check on general attitude, change in preferences, etc.)

It does seem slightly more prevalent in 2YOs and 5YOs, so maybe it's just the maturity levels? Just trying to find a way to cope that is actually feasible with real life time constraints. In a perfect world, I'd have tons of time and attention to devote to each horse and could manually evaluate and train them daily...but I don't see that ever happening.  :P

Great pedigrees! I'm especially happy to see Smiling Bubbles is doing so well for you. I owned her once upon a time. I guess this means I should add her to my "great mares that got away" list, ha! Hopefully My Bubbles is just as good!
