I will continue to name them alphabetically, as it keeps them ordered by time of birth later... In the past two years Ch. Crownette was always the first to foal, but this time it's Easy Union who used to foal soon after. And it's another boy from her.

Assuri - 8.3h chestnut colt by WCh. Drum Major, out of Easy Union (gold ranked). He is named after a real life foal of a mare that I used to own.

Easy Union will be bred to Dunaden.

Thanks! A girl today.

Azhagu - 9.2h dark bay filly by Frankel, out of Magic Feather (GCh. Must Be Magic). Her dosage shows that she should have some talent for long distance, perhaps after her grandsire who is a Chef-de-Race for "solid" distance. Azhagu means "beauty" in Tamil language.

Magic Feather has been retired.

A boy :)

Béthune - 9.1h dark bay colt with a cute little snip. By GCh. Edinburgh, out of Ch. Portofino (WCh. Strider). I bought Portofino at the 2019 Annual Select Auction and this is her first foal. 4x3 inbred to Highland Rogue (I/C). Béthune is a city in northern France, sub-prefecture of the Pas-de-Calais department. I looked up the route from Edinburgh to Portofino and Béthune was one of the cities on the way ;) and a car ride on this route, in either direction, would be something I'd definitely love to do! ^-^ I would stop in Béthune for some French wine ;)

Ch. Portofino will be bred to NCh. Pay the Boatman.

Finally we have a new foal too! ;D

Cap'n Körlinq - 9.2h brown colt by Curlin, out of Ch. Crownette (Giant's Causeway). He's the third foal of his dam, first colt. A tone darker than his dam and two older sisters, who are all beautiful liver chestnuts. The oldest filly is a 2yo now, but she still has quite a lot to grow although she was born early in January; so we're not expecting her to start racing anytime soon, unless she speeds up that growing.
"Cap'n" is inspired by Pirate English in which I'm currently browsing Facebook ;) and "Körlinq" is curling in Azerbaijani language. Curling is one silly game, by the way!

Ch. Crownette will be bred to NCh. Space Chips as soon as he retires from track - only one more steeplechase to go!

First Al Mundhir foal of the year! I thought there can be two Captains in this year's crop  ;D

Cap'n Muncher - 9.1h chestnut colt by NCh. Al Mundhir, out of Ch. Ophelia (Class Act). Ophelia has five foals but this one is the first at Clicker Lab. She's Mult. Stakes Winner, Mult. Stakes Placed. Name invented by Shanthi's autocorrect when she was requesting a breeding to Al  ^-^

Ch. Ophelia will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir again.

Cop in Morgue - 9.1h black colt by ICh. Unabridged, out of GCh. The Woman In Black (Black Gold). He's a full brother to 2yo filly Gallimaufry. The oldest foal from The Woman In Black is now 3yo filly Tipping the Velvet, which was unraced as a 2yo as she was very tiny; but she's entered in her first race now. The colt is the first black foal from this dam, so we named him after a character from "Men in Black". Fun quote with him:

Dr. Weaver: What's with the cat?
Cop in Morgue: Oh, the cat. Yeah, well, there's a problem with the cat. Sign here.
Dr. Weaver: [signing] What's the problem with the cat?
Cop in Morgue: It's your problem.
[leaves chortling at his own joke]
Dr. Weaver: I hate the living.

GCh. The Woman In Black will be bred to NCh. Space Chips.

Boys, boys, boys!

Dóighiúil - 9.1h brown colt by NCh. Player, out of Ch. Opulent (Ch. Irish River). Bred by Final Furlong. I bought Opulent at the 2020 Annual Select Auction; she's a twin sister to NCh. Irish Gold and also a Mult. Stakes Winner, Mult. Stakes Placed, Millionaire. Her oldest foal, Ch. Foolbetty by Foolhardy is also Mult. Stakes Winner. Dóighiúil means beautiful, fine, handsome, lovely.

Ch. Opulent will be bred to NCh. Space Chips.

Thank you :) meanwhile - we've got nine foals now, and just one filly :o

D’Annunzio - 8.3h bay colt by Invasor, out of GCh. Embellished (GCh. Harvard Bound). Invasor's almost first born foal, GCh. Sin Pecado, was also the first foal out of Kill A Mockingbird born at Clicker Lab. I sold both at some point but I do keep Ch. Puede Que Haya, a stakes winner filly now leased by Starfish. Invasor is now retired and I hope that this boy will be another one of his successful foals.

GCh. Embellished will be bred to NCh. Space Chips.

Drag Queen - 10.0h colt by Frankel out of I'm Not Pink (created). Dam is unraced but she's silver ranked, her most successful foal being Ch. Saramenha by Octagonal.

I'm Not Pink missed her booking to Quintet and she will be bred to American Pharoah.

Filly for a change :)

Eerschay - 9.3h dark bay girl by Frankel out of Ch. Sugar 'n' Spice (created). I bought the dam at the 2018 Annual Select Auction when she was in foal to GCh. My Lucky Day. That filly is a 2yo now and we're hoping to race her later this year. "Eerschay" is "cheers" in Pig Latin ;)

Ch. Sugar 'n' Spice will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir for a full sibling of her yearling colt Contra Corriente.

congrats. on the filly. I'd forgotten about pig latin. My mum taught me it when I was a little girl. Her and my younger brother used to irritate me greatly with it as they could speak at normal speed using it but I was a lot slower and couldn'tkeep up  :)

After a too long wait, today we welcomed a very special foal - first, she's a filly (yay!), and she's born on my birthday! :D

Faustine - 9.0h bay filly by Sea the Stars, out of Adriatic Swan. Her dam is gold ranked and her first born son, GCh. Zadar, entered stud this year. We also keep his full sister. Faustine is named after "Faustine et le bel été", a 1972 movie with Isabelle Huppert; because I can't believe that she lost the Best Actress Oscar against Emma Stone :P I stopped watching La La Land after two minutes :D

Adriatic Swan will be bred to Frankel.

Gleann Bheatha - 9.3h flea-bitten grey filly by NCh. Irish Gold, out of Ch. Ireland. Dam is now silver ranked. The filly should be a turf specialist. Named after Glenveagh, the second largest national park in Ireland. The park is home to the largest herd of red deer in Ireland and the formerly extinct golden eagle were reintroduced into the park in 2000.

Ch. Ireland will be bred to Frankel.

Thanks! Today the girl from our foundation mare. I've been very unlucky with her foals, but maybe it's my management as her first born girl is doing very well owned by someone else... anyway, I hope to one day breed a foal that can actually run for Clicker Lab, to continue the line.

Harlem Shake - 8.1h blood bay filly by Invasor, out of Por Amor Al Arte.

Por Amor Al Arte will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir, for a full sibling to her yearling colt Gracias Amor.

Girls are catching up.

I Don't Do Drama - 9.1h bay filly by ICh. Starling, out of Ch. Shes Too Classy (NCh. I'm A Classic). Fourth foal of dam, and I keep all at Clicker Lab, which might be the reason why she still doesn't have any breeding ranking. :P The oldest boy has just been gelded so we'll see if he improves the sitiuation.

Ch. Shes Too Classy will be bred to ICh. Dark Continent.

Girls are catching up but we get only boys from this mare, so she can't be different this time.

Just Curious - 9.2h dark grey colt by NCh. Crafty Magic, out of Ch. Udaivilas (created). Crafty Magic has a nice stayer's pedigree, so I'm curious if he'll pass it on.

Ch. Udaivilas stays in Australia and will be bred to ICh. Can't Touch This.

King of Ooo - 8.3h light chestnut (pretty!) colt by NCh. Al Mundhir, out of Ch. Cordially (NCh. Diplomat). Fourth foal of this mare at Clicker Lab.

Ch. Cordially will be bred to GCh. Zadar, the full brother of our 3yo filly Zanahoria.

A foal! This one had to be named starting with L (to continue alphabetically) and with a name of one of the many insects discovered by Neal Evenhuis, who was a very creative scientist... the dam and the older sister of this colt are also named after Evenhuis's species.

Lucidipennis - 9.0h dark bay colt by Invasor, out of Ch. Iyaiyai (Giant's Causeway).

Ch. Iyaiyai will be bred to NCh. Space Chips.

Orivesi - 7.1h dark bay filly by NCh. Al Mundhir, out of GCh. Yeman (A.P. Indy). Her older sister was named after a character from The Moomins, so this girl is named after a town in Finland.

Today a royal colt, from two World Champions.

Phyfe - 9.1h dark bay colt with *the star*, by WCh. Express Yourself, out of WCh. Dreamboat (Planet Hollywood). Sire is currently Gold ranked. I bought the mare from Fox Run last year and it's her first foal at Clicker Lab. Named after Henry Phyfe from "The Double Life of Henry Phyfe (1966)", starring Fred Clark, who was also cast in "Dreamboat", a movie after which the dam is named (I guess).

WCh. Dreamboat will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir.

Rainfall Wraith - 9.2h handsome black colt by NCh. Crafty Magic, out of Greylin (FFCh. Foolhardy). I bought his dam specifically to breed for long distance; I'm almost sure that her dam was a S/P Reine, but apparently not anymore. This colt has an older half brother who is inbred to Foolish Question, I/C Reine. Anyway, my plan was to retire Greylin this year so we'll see if her two boys will continue the line.
I wanted the name to be related to colt's granddam River of Dreams, as it also connects with this year's Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming, who won on such a wet track that probably spooked my favourite, Thunder Snow. :P

Shenanigan - 9.2h flea-bitten grey filly by ICh. Belanso, out of GCh. Private Party (NCh. Sneak Peek). I raced the dam and bred her first two foals, who didn't do much on the track (but the dam didn't start racing before she was 4yo, so maybe that's why), so I sold her to The Grey Stable and then bought her back from their auction, in foal to Belanso. And now she gave us her first filly! Meanwhile, her oldest colt started to show some talent after being gelded and switched to steeplechase, so maybe there is hope for her other foals.

GCh. Private Party will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir.

I feel guilty when I create a foal as there are so many horses in the game... but I also can't resist ;) and it's nice to have some outcross possibilities when they run well. This one was created weeks ago but she decided to show up just now.

Tangerine - 8.3h flea-bitten grey filly with a bald face and four stockings. I hope she'll become a champion and produce some pretty foals!

Handsome grey colt here.

Urban Vegan - 9.0h grey colt by ICh. Unabridged, out of Ch. All Too Divine. I'm not a vegan myself (and not even vegetarian), but I rarely eat meat. For some reason a vision of everyone going vegan makes me sad, thinking that all farm animals would disappear ;)

Ch. All Too Divine will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir, for a full sibling of her yearling colt.

We have one half-born filly ;) I'm not sure if she exists... as her dam appears in foal again and the filly doesn't show on my weanlings list. But she does show as her dam's most recent foal and I was able to name her, so I hope that she's really there.

Vanished Valentina - 8.0h liver chestnut filly by Invasor, out of Ch. Shy Shy. Born yesterday. Or at least she should be :P dam is/was due June 1st.

Ch. Shy Shy will be bred to ICh. Unabridged as soon as she's ready ;)

And another pretty girl.

Vernon Subutex - 8.2h dark bay filly by Blame, out of Ch. Full of Glory (Lonesome Glory). Named after the novel by Virginie Despentes.

Ch. Full of Glory will be bred to NCh. Crafty Magic.

Love the name 😃

Thanks! Today a boy, first from this dam.

Windsprite - 8.2h brown colt by NCh. Dark Demand, out of Ch. Mauiluv (Black Gold). Windsprite (or Silken Windsprite until recently) is my favourite breed of dog, which I hope to own one day (if only I could afford). It's like a whippet but with longer hair. Windsprites were lucky enough not to be "officially recognized" by FCI, which allowed them to have open studbooks - and cross with whippets - but now European countries are closing their studbooks one by one, which makes me angry because it means that the breed will run into big trouble. But at the moment it's still one of the healthiest breeds; and will probably remain relatively healthy for two or three generations more (or forever if they open the studbooks and educate the breeders). Windsprite was the name of the kennel owned by a guy who first bred longhaired whippets in the U.S.

Ch. Mauiluv will be bred to NCh. Allinvain.

Love the name. :) A long-haired whippet sounds really interesting - I keep eyeing Spanish Galgos, and would love to set up a rescue for them.

Galgos are lovely too! I already have a rescue so I'd like something easier to deal with for a second dog ;)

Our old man rescue is the easiest dog ever (except for his old man issues that are cropping up lately), but our greyhound rescue is the princessiest dog ever, haha. He's super sweet and easy-going, but definitely has opinions about what he deserves in life.

That's great. My whippet mix rescue is afraid of people but he likes dogs. And he has a very strong prey drive, while wildlife seems to show up everywhere recently ;) but he's very beautiful!

Today a lovely grey filly.

Yaqona - 9.1h dark grey filly by ICh. Unabridged, out of Ch. The Nightingale. I own the dam for a while now, but I sold her first foal at Clicker Lab and the next was stillborn. So I'm glad to see a healthy one now - also she's the first filly. Yaqona is a Fijian intoxicating beverage, also called kava.

Ch. The Nightingale will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir.

Our greyhound seems to have no prey drive at all, even though he won on the track. He's fascinated by squirrels, but only wants to stand and stare at them quizzically. (He has tried to gallop off 2 or 3 times in the 2 years we've owned him, but he's always on the lead, so that didn't work very well.)

Lovely filly. :)

I just returned from an amazing trip around Iceland, to find the last foal of this year's crop. Of course the filly will be named in Icelandic!

Þórarinn - 9.3h chestnut filly by NCh. Al Mundhir, out of Pinoit; a millionaire winner of Gr. 1 Breeders' Cup SC Distaff Endurance. One of famous Icelandic persons is Þórarinn B. Þorláksson - one of Iceland's first contemporary painters, the first Icelander to exhibit paintings in Iceland, and recipient of the first public grant that country made to a painter.

I had planned to breed Pinoit to Ghostzapper, but he's no longer available, so she will be bred to Frosted.

We have 16 colts this year, 12 fillies, and no stillborns - yay! Most of them are sired by our stallion Al Mundhir (5 foals), the next most popular are Frankel and Invasor (4 foals by each). The tallest weanlings at the moment are Béthune and Cap'n Körlinq (both 12.2h and born in January) while the shortest are Windsprite and Vanished Valentina (8.3h, born early June and early July).

Update: the filly is now Þjóðgerður, as the above was a male name ;) I couldn't find any famous Þjóðgerður, but there was a daughter of Flóki Vilgerðarson, who was the first Norseman to deliberately sail to Iceland, with his wife and children.  From Western Norway he set sail to the Shetland Islands where it is said his daughter drowned. He continued his journey and landed in the Faroe Islands where another of his daughters was wed. There he took three ravens to help him find his way to Iceland, and thus, he was nicknamed Raven-Floki (Norse and Icelandic; Hrafna-Flóki).  After sailing for a while from the Faroes, Floki set one of the ravens free. The first raven flew back to the Faroes; later, the second flew up in the air and back on board, but the third flew northwest and did not return. Floki now knew they were close to land, and so they followed the third raven.

Hilda I too have just come back from a cruise to Iceland!!! I was first there 30 years ago when I went camping with my husband. A bit different this time.

Did you go to his gallery? Very unusual work  :) Liked some but not others. Did you visit faroes as well? I did and the shetlands and Lerwick as well.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Cool! I was first time there, lots of tourists but it's probably the best time to visit!
No I didn't go to his gallery, only saw his paintings here and there. We had a long bus ride around the island, sleeping only one night at each place. I wish I had a chance to see the horses closer to the wilderness, because we only saw a short performance for tourists (which I didn't really like) and then some herds grazing near the road. If I come back next year I will definitely try to ride somewhere.

Saw quite a lot of the ponies. A couple of years ago I saw some Icelandic ponies at a nearby riding school close to where I live. Did you see them do the tolt? Hard to believe how fast they can move when their legs seem to be walking!

Yes, amazing! Maybe not as much as the Spanish Riding School which I saw last autumn, but in case of Icelandics it's more about their gait abilities than rider's skills ;)

Just recently I found this video of an Icelandic horse "spooking" by only raising his eyebrows:

super cute!

Love the video! Saw the Spanish Riding School a couple of years ago. Seriously amazing, the airs above the ground were breathtaking - and I managed to get some decent photos as well  :)
