Well it's that time of year again. With the last race of the year behind us and 2012 looming brightly on the horizon... Now is the time to see how you did for 2011.. 2011 was our second full year of racing and again we had a predominate string of 2 y/o's... I'm very happy with how we did this year... the highlight of the year being Ch. Dark Demands win in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile...

Battle Hill Farm

This Year

Wins: 46 (10%)
Places: 56 (12%)
Shows: 75 (16%)
Fourths: 58 (13%)
Earnings: $3,956,750

Here's hoping everyone has a great 2012!

Just a note Battle Hill will not have any breeding results until the 2013 race season...  ;D

It's turned out to be a pretty good year for Skyclad overall, with lots of inconsistent horses turning into pretty consistent money earners. We went from 9 racers to 24, and increased our weanlings and yearlings to four each. I'm very curious to see how this expansion will turn out. So year end...

Skyclad Stables

This Year

Shows:    45 (13%)
Fourths: 39 (11%)
Earnings: $2,018,900

I would say it was another good year...my racing string seems to be improving in quality. I was able to get a couple of Stakes wins, and have a couple of promising fillies at least...as well as my very first homebreds hitting the track. So next year will be interesting! No breeding stats til next year. :)

This was my first 100% active year of FF (I'll have been here 3 years in May x.x) and I think Snowbird did well, seeing as 2009 and 2010 were sort of "I have no idea what I'm doing" years :P The highlight of our year is our 2yo Amalfi who will ring in the new year as an MSW! :D

Snowbird International

2011
Races:    354
Wins:    44 (12%)
Places:    48 (14%)
Shows:    53 (15%)
Fourths:    58 (16%)
Earnings:    $1,825,225

Overall (2009 - 2011)
Races:    708
Wins:    77 (11%)
Places:    93 (13%)
Shows:    94 (13%)
Fourths:    91 (13%)
Earnings:    $3,747,525

Snowbird will be ending 2011 in the hall of fame with 10th most wins :)

A very satisfactory year for Darkwood Stables. 2011 was our first full year of racing having lost our newbie status at the end of January.

This year
Races: 276
Wins: 34 (12%)
Places: 34 (12%)
Shows: 41 (15%)
Fourths: 35 (13%)
Earnings: $1,889,950

Overall
Races: 315
Wins: 41 (13%)
Places: 48 (15%)
Shows: 43 (14%)
Fourths: 40 (13%)
Earnings: $2,952,200

So percentage wise we are about average. We had two stable stars this year with Ch Undebatable a real turf specialist holding the speed record for 5.5 furlongs at Gulfstream and winning the Coronation stakes as well as placing and showing in other stakes races.
and Quiet Edict who gained his GCh title this year. He also holds the speed record at Belmont for 15f on dirt and has won and placed in stakes races as well.
We have half a dozen 2yo ready to hit the track in 2012 (so exciting!) and our very first foals are expected soon (also exciting !). Looking forward to 2012 and more racing fun
Hope you all have a good new year and look forward to seeing you on the track!

This Year
Races:    128
Wins:    8 (6%)
Places:    12 (9%)
Shows:    21 (16%)
Fourths:    17 (13%)
Earnings:    $500,800

We are a new establishment, having only been in existence since June, so are still just learning the ropes. We have a couple of promising 2YO's in Velociraptor 7 (2-3-1) and In Thy Name 4 (3-1-0) to look forward to running as 3YO's, plus a couple of others who should bring in a few wins for us. I also think that I'm just starting to get the feel of how to do Workouts, so, hopefully there'll be fewer Starfish horses running with F for Energy.

Thanks to all of you for your help and advice throughout the past six months, especially Shanthi.

Happy 2008 (FF 2012) to all and good racing.

About an average year.  It was rough in the sense that we were not very active over the summer and leased out a fair number of our ponies for the fall.  I need to sit down and cut down our herd size.  Running a 40+ string is just killing me!
2009 Crop
Foals:     5 (22%)

I think I've got a bunch of late bloomers.  Here's hoping they get better.

Well this was CDS's largest crop of 2yo's yet and I think they did pretty well this year.

2009 Crop
Foals: 19 (27%)
Racers: 19 (100%)
Winners: 12 (63%)
Stakes Winners: 2 (11%)
Ave. Earnings: $108,592 (106%)---maybe has something to do with the negative percentage under all foals?

All Foals
Foals: 70
Racers: 30 (43%)
Winners: 20 (67%)
Stakes Winners: 4 (13%)
Ave. Earnings: $102,570 (-6%) ----Not sure what the negative means...?

Anyway we're pretty happy so far and can't believe our first foal will be FIVE next year!!

Since I didn't join until Late March, I feel I've done fairly well, starting with 2 racers and growing into a 12 horse race string. Also will have 4 foals on the ground in 2012.

This Year
Races: 93
Wins: 8 (9%)
Places: 8 (9%)
Shows: 10 (11%)
Fourths: 8 (9%)
Earnings: $501,050

Special thanks to Storybook Farm and Stillwater Farm for leasing me a few ladies to race.

Took me six months to finally figure out training and during those 6 months I was at 9% win so considering it all I'm pretty happy with how the year ended. :) Hopefully I'll be better about racing next season and get more races in.

This Year
Races:    146
Wins:    31 (21%)

Earnings:    $43,604,808

I typically race my 2yo's very lightly until the very end of the year(they get last priority over my older horses anyway) and this year was no different but I think this year's 2yo's did ok considering I didn't spend as much time on them as I should have. Hopefully they'll be awesome 3yo's.

After a horrid bobble mid-season due to training, I think I recovered all right :)

GDR is going to finish his career as the #3 money earner to date.
MSF will finish as the #8 Money earning Stable for the year as well as the #8 On the board stable with a 50% on the board average. Which is my goal, so I'm superbly happy.

This Year
Races:    212

Our first crop of homebreds hit the track next year. Very exciting!

We haven't had a full year yet (joined mid-February 2011), but I still consider it to be pretty successful.  We grew from a stable of just 2 runners to over 24 runners (we just sold several or it would be more), 8 yearlings now, and 2 broods expecting our first homebred crop in 2012.  All in all, I'm *very* pleased with 2011's improvements.  Here's hoping 2012 is even better!

Earnings: $846,600

(I just copied & pasted that...odd that the percentages are showing up as 0% when they so clearly aren't...so I noted the actual percentage according to my handy calculator, ASSUMING the other numbers are correct.  Silly code... ::))
