Darkwood's foals
« on: January 01, 2010, 09:55:51 am »
Just woke up to a crisp snowy morning ang a beatiful New Year baby in the stables.
Undebateable (What's Debatable x Queen's Victory) has presented us with a pretty brown filly by Strider.
She has already been named Elfstone (what else!) and will probably be 15.1hh as that is what she is now. though I expect her to shrink a bit once the game code catches up with all the days changes  ;)
Undebatable is one of my favourite mares, sold to me by Semiahmoo Stables as a broodmare on condition that I race her for one season. in fact i raced her for 2 years, becoming SW & MSP during that time.
I have been really looking forward to this foal and I'm so glad she arrived safely and on the right side of the new year! :) :)

well a good day  :)
Sailor Venus our gold ranked mare presented us with a pretty filly foal by Strider. This was the foal I have been waiting for and she is a Blue Roan, my favourite colour (yes I know it's impossible in RL). I have called her Arien. She is the maiden whom the Valar chose to guide the vessel of the Sun in "The Silmarillion" so it keeps the Tolkien theme

and a bad day  :'(
my second most looked forward to foal out of our GCh mare Smooth Sailing x Worth my While, died at birth. The vet had been concerned about the foal for a while as it did not seem to be developing properly. Her fears were confirmed when the foal did not make it. It was small and a PM showed it had a heart defect and the stress of birth was too much for her. but Smoothie herself is fine and the vet says the heart condition was not inherited but just one of those things.
hope there are no more of them.

Aw...congrats on a cute filly with a neat name. :) Sorry about your other filly, though. :(
