Well, the best I can say is at least she waited till 2014.   :(

I came to the stable today to discover my maiden mare Trace My Lace had given birth.  I excitedly checked the foal to discover it was not breathing and cold.  Sadly, we lost the colt despite all efforts to the contrary.

Unnamed
Trace My Lace x Moonopoly

Hopefully, the rest of the foaling season will be better.

Trace My Lace will be sent to Express Yourself for an April 1 date.

0 fillies, 0 colts, 1 deceased, 5 still due

Sorry to hear about the colt. :( At least mom made it through OK.

Yeah, that's definitely something to be thankful for.  I was worried when I first saw the notice that I'd had a horse die, it didn't quite dawn on me at first that it said "Unnamed".  :P

After teasing us for the past three days, we finally have a slightly late baby.  Of course, her page still says unborn, but for the moment, I'll brag on her.  :D

Naerwen
GetThePartyStarted x Cryptic Ballad
A dark grey filly with lots of white on her face and all four feet and I can say outright, she's lots bigger than I was expecting at 10 hh.  Her due date was on the 4th, and I was worried that Party would go before New Year's.  Obviously, I worried for nothing, instead she made me wait a few days.  Glad she finally decided to get the torture over with.

Sorry to hear about the stillborn foal, but congrats on the filly! That girlie is huge. :) I hope she grows up to be as lovely as her name is.

Thanks Nan!  :D  The name means "the sad one" just because I was so sad over the passing of my grandfather and I needed to mark his passing in some way.  Kinda depressing, but the name is pretty at least.

We came to the stable today to discover that we had a new foal.  It's not the one we've been waiting anxiously for a week for though.  Our mare Echo Park decided she just couldn't wait two more weeks to give birth.  :D

Crossing Guard
Echo Park x Double Cross
dark bay 8hh with white on all four feet and a blaze (or star depending on if you're looking at her picture, lol)

Her page still says unborn, but we're counting her.  She's tentatively being called Crossing Guard, but it's undecided if that will stick.

Echo Park will be going to see Strider.

2 fillies, 0 colts, 1 stillborn, 4 foals still due this year

After teasing us for close to three weeks, we arrived in the barn today to discover another healthy filly.  :D  We're being overrun with them this year.

Moonlit Lane
By Moonover Boy out of Penny Lane (Lit De Justice (S) x Social Climber (S))
Blood Bay with white on her face and all four feet and not as big as I expected considering how long her mother held out on us at 9.1hh.

We've named her Moonlit Lane for the moment.  I'm not happy with it, but it works for the moment.  Penny's going to see High Chances for a March 3 date.  :D

3 fillies, 0 colts, 1 stillborn, 3 more left to foal

She's beautiful and I think the name is really sweet.

Thanks.  It's growing on me, I just wasn't thrilled with it when I was first trying to come up with something.  XD

We've got a slightly early baby this go round, but we're happy, especially considering her height.  I'd hate to see how tall she'd have been if she'd waited another week.  :D

Unnamed
9.3 hh filly by Turn n'Burn out of I Put A Spell On You
Dapple Grey with a star, snip, LF Blaze, RF blaze, RH coronet, and LH ermine

We bought Spell in foal with this girl, so I don't know much about her lines, but we're hoping she'll do well.  We're sending her to Nch. Call To War for a 2015 foal.

Looks like the fillies definitely have it this year....

4 fillies, 0 colts, 1 stillborn, 2 left to foal
