Stillwater Farms is proud to introduce our roster of stallions for 2014.  We are standing the same fine stallions we've stood before, with one exception - Highland Bandit has been leased out for the year.

All our studs will be nominated for the Breeders' Cup and are Live Foal Guaranteed.

Discounts for new members and multiple mares (to the same stud) are available...please PM me and we can work something out. :)

All of our studs require no approval, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  If you would like a specific date reserved for your mare, please let me know.

First up, Army Laird!
GCh. Highland Laird - 1998 stallion, Multiple stakes winner, Millionaire - $75,000
Highland Rogue (G) x Lady MacLeod - Clan MacLeod

Laird had the misfortune to be overshadowed by his stablemates, including the famous Highland Raven.  Nonetheless, he earned over $1 million on the track, and won the Breeders' Cup SC Sprint as a 3 year old.

Quick Stats:
Major bloodlines: Highland Rogue
Breed Ranking: Silver (7.2)
Winners from Racers: 76%
Stakes winners from Racers: 26% (21% MSW)
Average Foal Earnings: $636,457
Major winners: Spectacular Lady, High Chances, Eternal Lady, Evenstar
Stud Fee: $75,000

Next, a steeplechasing specialist featuring impeccable bloodlines...
NCh. Highland Wizard - 2001 stallion, Multiple stakes winner, Multi-millionaire - $50,000
What's It Worth (G) x Highland Sorceress (P) - Highland Rogue (G)

Wizard had a slow start as a racehorse until he hit the jumps, when he won 6 of his 7 races.  He won the steeplechase Triple Crown and was voted Steeplechase Colt of 2004.

Quick Stats:
Major bloodlines: What's It Worth, Highland Rogue
Breed Ranking: Gold (8.2)
Winners from Racers: 93%
Stakes winners from Racers: 36% (16% MSW)
Average Foal Earnings: $391,537
Major winners: Strike Your Fancy, Sacred Hill, Sovereign, Chorus Line
Stud Fee: $50,000

For good measure, we're also standing his half-brother, by Seattle Slew...
NCh. Seattle Sorcerer - 2004 stallion, Multiple stakes winner, Multi-millionaire - $5,000
Seattle Slew (S) x Highland Sorceress (P) - Highland Rogue (G)

Sorcerer performed well on both dirt and turf. He's a bit less proven than his big brother, but offers more versatility as well. He's had 3 foal crops race so far, consisting of 14 foals total, including MSW Daenerys.

Quick Stats:
Major bloodlines: Seattle Slew, Highland Rogue
Breed Ranking: Bronze (3.5)
Winners from Racers: 57%
Stakes winners from Racers: 7% (7% MSW)
Average Foal Earnings: $47,411
Major winners: Daenerys
Stud Fee: $5,000

A bit more Seattle Slew, but with a different Highland Rogue daughter...
NCh. Slew O'Scots - 2003 stallion, Multiple stakes winner, Multi-millionaire - $25,000
Seattle Slew (S) x WCh. Highland Raven (P) - Highland Rogue (G)

Slew O'Scots was another horse who prospered when steeplechasing.  He had a limited try on dirt as a two-year-old, placing 4th in his only stakes attempt.  After the switch to jumps, he won 1/3 of his races, including the Heritage Stakes (part of the SC Triple Crown) twice.   Slew has 3 crops of foals racing to date, which includes MSWs Silver Slew, ScottyDoesntKnow and Edinburgh.  This young stallion is sure to be a champion sire.

Quick Stats:
Major bloodlines: Seattle Slew, Highland Rogue
Breed Ranking: Silver (5.1)
Winners from Racers: 87%
Stakes winners from Racers: 10% (10% MSW)
Average Foal Earnings: $129,413
Major winners: Silver Slew, ScottyDoesntKnow, Edinburgh
Stud Fee: $25,000

Our next stallion was a superstar on the track, and one of Final Furlong's few true champions...
FFCh. TakeMeToHollywood - 2003 stallion, Multiple stakes winner, Multi-millionaire - $15,000
What's It Worth (G) x Hollywood Queen (G) - Hollywood Tribe

Kermit almost needs no introduction.  He raced for 5 years, winning 17 stakes races and over $8 million.  He literally did it all - not only did he set almost a dozen speed records (at distances ranging from 6.5 furlongs to 16 furlongs), but he won the Breeders' Cup SC Endurance twice, and won the first two legs of the Triple Crown.  He was voted 3yo Colt of the Year and Horse of the Year in 2006, and in 2009 he won Steeplechase Horse of the Year   Kermit's foals began racing in 2013, producing 4 winners from 11 starters as 2yos.

Quick Stats:
Major bloodlines: What's It Worth
Breed Ranking: Bronze (2.0)
Winners from Racers: 36%
Stakes winners from Racers: 0%
Average Foal Earnings: $16,559
Stud Fee: $15,000

Last up is a sentimental favorite, the son of one of Final Furlong's best broodmares...
ICh. Ring of Fire - 2005 stallion, Multiple stakes winner, Multi-millionaire - $15,000
Cross Roads (S) x Playing With Fire (G) - Trickaroo

Ring of Fire won over $5 million on the track, with stakes wins on dirt and turf to his credit.  He set 10 speed records, and won such races as the Breeders' Cup Mile, the Singapore Airlines International Cup, and the Sword Dancer Invitational.  Not only that, but he has astounding bloodlines, being half brother to FFCh. Can't Catch Me and WCh. Do You Dare, among others.  His foals began racing in 2013, with 8 winners from 11 starters.

Quick Stats:
Major bloodlines: Cross Roads
Breed Ranking: Bronze (3.9)
Winners from Racers: 73%
Stakes winners from Racers: 0%
Average Foal Earnings: $37,832
Stud Fee: $15,000
