Another Breeder Series Question
« on: April 21, 2010, 04:14:14 am »
Can someone help me out because I still don't really get this. I have a colt who was bred by Storybook Farms and is by FF owned Secretariat. So is he eligible? Does the farm have to nominate the crop every year for them to be eligible?

No, it is whoever breeds that horse. And given that Storybook is no longer in the game, then the horse will not get nominated. And yes, the breeder has to nominate the horse (or that years crop) every year. The nomination is only valid for one year. I hope this helps.

Yes, Spudly is correct.  And to make it just a little more clear, the Breeders Series has nothing to do with the stallion/sire of the horse.  The Breeders Cup nominations do, inthat, the stallion must be nominated for the Breeders Cup each year in order for that years foal crop to be eligible.
