A few decent runs, but a larger percentage of horses saying, "Nope, nope, nope," down the track. Starting to wind down for the year, I think.

Wins:
Game Player (4yo, Player) in an Allowance

Places:
Skellig (3yo, Lord Nelson) in an Allowance

Free Haven (3yo, Silver Wizard) 6th in a NW3 Allowance
Into The West (4yo, Giant's Causeway) 6th in the Hong Kong Cup (Gr. 1)

Shelbie just claimed that spot so I’ve put her in the Jun 1b slot. I hope that’s ok. All the others are booked as requested. Thank you!

That's fine. I was getting myself all confused as to who had already claimed what. Lol.

Looking to get the earliest available slots possible, one for Al Mundhir and one for Space Chips.

Al Mundhir - Blue Suede Shoes
Space Chips - Find Me Up River

Mostly babies and low quality horses out today. Not at all surprised by the woeful lack of performance. Still, pretty proud of Ch. Amati for managing a 2nd after running (and winning) only a couple weeks ago in the G3 Crimson Lad Breeders' Stakes.

14(1)-0-1(1)-2-4 $83,050

Places:
Ch. Amati (4yo, Drum Major) in the Lonesome Glory Breeders' Stakes (Gr. 2) - Doesn't seem to like the distances so much, but I'd say this is a solid finish, all things considering. Most likely will not attempt the 3rd leg of the Breeders' Series, but we'll see.

Shows:
All I Know Now (3yo, Stressed) in an Allowance
Royal Minute (4yo, Lasting Spirit) in an Allowance

Fourths:
Free Doll (2yo, Latino Mix) in a NW2 Allowance
Ch. Nikody (4yo, Nightfight) in an Allowance
Regular Profit (2yo, Tottenham Hotspur) in a maiden
Feelin' Witty (4yo, Witness) in a NW3 Allowance

Fifths:
Slow Tea (2yo, Celtic Star) in a maiden
Soldier Laddie (2yo, Belanso) in a maiden
Dovahzul (3yo, Belanso) in a NW2 Allowance

Also Rans:
Thick Fiesta (2yo, Hogwarts) 10th in a NW2 Allowance
Gigantic Clover (3yo, Ring of Fire) 6th in a NW3 Allowance
Gallant Lord (2yo, Lord Nelson) 6th in a maiden
Wadi (3yo, Stressed) 8th in a NW2 Allowance

Annual Foal Auction / Re: How'd You Do? 2022
« on: December 10, 2018, 02:34:29 pm »
Didn't get many of my first picks, but I've been so busy recently I didn't put much effort in fighting for them anyway. Still, I'm happy with what I did get. Got all colts this round since we seemed to have a filly spree this year. All 5 were 1k each.

Biosphere, black weanling by NCh. Highland Burning (S) x Ch. Anaton Park (B) - Created. Most siblings are winners despite being owned by FF, and his dam is MSW/SP, so he should, theoretically, be a solid runner.

Follow the Stars, chestnut weanling by NCh. Carrowmore (S) x Starview (S) - NCh. Sneak Peek (S). He's half to SW Ch. Lucky View, who I bought back in August, and SP Magician's Sleeve. Dam was SW/SP at 3, and sire also didn't really come into his own at 3, so I don't expect he'll really find his feet till about the same age.

Irish Drover, dark bay yearling by NCh. Irish Gold (S) x Driven (B) - GCh. Worth My While (G). Of 3 racing siblings, one is a winner, one is a multi winner, and the 2YO sib. is unplaced. Bit of a toss-up on how this boy will run, but hopefully with a little love and training he'll do his bloodline proud.

Occasional Journey, bay yearling by NCh. Formal Occasion (S) x Rainbow Road (B) - Cross Roads (S). Half to multi-winners Ch. Almost Famous and Ch. Free Play. Formal Occasion seems to produce solid runners, and I've been intrigued by him since I got my hands on MSW/SP Ch. Wry Hope, a 2YO son of Formal Occasion, so I'll be interested to see how this little guy runs.

River Kingdom, chestnut yearling by Animal Kingdom (S) x Ch. Rosie's River (B) - Ch. Irish River (S). This one was definitely a gamble. Animal Kingdom IRL was a solid dirt runner, and seems to be a reliable sire in game. Rosie's River was never run on the flat, but she won 7 of 20 races in SC. Largely unproven line, so it'll be interesting to see how he performs.

General/Questions / Re: 2yo's for 2023
« on: December 01, 2018, 03:45:09 am »
I didn't make any guesses last year, but of this year's 2 year olds, by far the best has been Ch. Wry Hope (NCh. Formal Occasion x Indy Angela - A.P. Indy). I bought him for $5k in the Grey Stable auction in May, and he went on to win both the G1 Hopeful Stakes and the G1 Futurity Stakes, and he even pulled a 3rd in the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

Other highlights included homebreds Crisanta (NCh. Golden Text x Costa Marta - Rock of Gibraltar) with a 2nd in the G2 Reisling Slipper Trial and Glass Belle (ICh. Belanso x All Those Glasses) with 2 stakes 3rds in the G1 Spinaway Stakes and the Ungraded Bertram F. Bongard Stakes.

For next year, I have a couple favorites I'm keeping an eye on.

Kiss The Fool is by far my biggest hopeful for next year. She's the first Foolhardy baby I've ever gotten my hands on out of gold ranked ICh. French Kiss. Her full brother, Ch. Postmaster, seems to have done fairly well his 2YO year, so hoping she follows in his footsteps.

Second pick is Star Sign, an Invasor son out of gold ranked Starzen mare Change Your Stars. He has 2 full siblings, winner Space Invador and Stakes Winning Ch. In The Stars, neither of whom were raced much, if at all, at 2, so it's a toss-up whether or not he does well at 2, but being from good stock, his potential is promising.

Also interested to see how Blind Destiny (NCh. Hidden Destiny x All Those Glasses) does. She's half to this years MSP Glass Belle, so if she follows in her sister's footsteps, she should be good to go.

And last but not least, I'm watching out for longshot Speechcraft. She's by gold ranked WCh. Express Yourself, who did quite well for himself at 2 years old. She also has a stakes winning half brother, Ch. He's Her Knight, who was 2 for 2 at 2 years old, but her mother, Ch. Fairly Persistent, seems to have been "fairly persistent" at throwing tail-watchers, so it's a 50/50 chance Speechcraft does what she was bred to do.

Godolphin just announced the retirement of Talismanic, who I would LOVE to nominate as a new FF stud. No in-game relatives in his pedigree, and would add some lovely chrome to the FF gene pool I think.

I would definitely be up for seeing Talismanic in the game. His track record might not be quite as impressive as some of the others, but with no in-game relatives to get in the way, that's always a plus. And he's so pretty, too!
