Looks like its the year of the girls. Lol.

Spirit of Scotland
GCh. Edinburgh x Ch. Fairly Persistent (S) - Man O'War (S)
8.0h dark bay filly
Not sure I'm sold on her name yet, but this little girl is only the the second filly out of 6 foals for this mare. She's half to stakes winner He's Her Knight, who I also own and who is one of my most consistent runners despite being a one-win wonder. Lol. Fairly Persistent's foals don't seem to be terribly consistent, though, so we'll hope this little one takes more after her sire.

I currently have one Edinburgh runner, 3YO Towering Clover. Of 3 starts (all on dirt so far), she has yet to hit the board, but she does seem to be running decent times overall, with her best times being under 8f so far. It'll be interesting to see how she matures.

Annual 2yo Auction / Re: 2022 2yo auction - How’d you do?
« on: March 13, 2018, 07:29:05 pm »
I had set an alarm on my phone for this auction on its original date but forgot to set the new date, so I completely missed out on my top picks. Decided to pick up some cheap fillies instead (as if I need more horses). I think these little ladies should at least break even by the time all is said and done.

Cape Hatteras
14.2hh dark bay filly by Deep Impact x Ch. Simple Success
Her two older half brothers are both winners, so we'll see if she can pull that off as well.
Purchased for $1000

Previous Frost
16.0hh grey filly by Invasor (S) x Ch. Ain't I Pretty (B)
4/6 of her half siblings on the track are winners. The other two are owned by FF, so I kinda give them a pass. Mom did best in her 3YO year, but Frost is already pretty big so I might consider giving her an early start to see how she does.
Purchased for $1000

Amusing Spell
14.3hh dapple grey filly by ICh. Long Live The King (S) x Nothin Ventured (B)
I own 3 LLTK sons already. None of them are superstars, but they're mostly consistent runners, so not bad. Mom only has one runner to her name, and that one's a winner, plus she wasn't even run until she was 4 and she did well enough, so I'm hoping Spell will at least hold her own.
Purchased for $1000

Regular Profit
15.2hh strawberry roan filly by GCh. Tottenham Hotspur (S) x Is She High (B)
Picked this one up because I own another TH filly who has run really well for me. Mom has produced 6 winners, though she herself never won anything, so it'll be a toss-up as to how Profit will do.
Purchased for $1000

Whimsical War
15.0hh chestnut filly by ICh. City Upon a Hill x Lady Liberty
Only the second foal from Lady Liberty, and older brother is unplaced, so there's no telling how this girl will do. Neither mom nor dad showed interest/were raced before age 3, so this year we may just focus on training for her.
Purchased for $1000

Got another little girl in the barn!

National Covenant
GCh. Edinburgh x Three Chances - GCh. Steal Your Heart
9.2h dark bay filly
Name comes from the Covenanter period of Scottish history. They were a group of Presbyterians in the 16th/17th century who fought for religious freedom against the English king. They got their name from the pact they signed in 1638, known as the National Covenant.

General/Questions / Re: Stallion Spotlight March I: Gunningdownromance
« on: March 08, 2018, 01:08:56 pm »
I own one son by Gunningdownromance, a 4YO named Flames Of Love. He started racing as a 3YO and won/placed/showed one time each out of 4 starts. He's only been run once so far this year due to an injury and landed a 5th in that one. He seems to run well so far, and though I'm not sure yet what his preferences are, he seems to show an affinity for turf, so it'll be interesting to see what he can do from here.

First healthy foal of the year was born yesterday!

NCh. Away The Lads x Costa Marta - Rock of Gibraltar
9.1h dapple grey filly
This is mom's third filly, though last year's was stillborn, so we're happy for a healthy birth. Decided to name her Honeymoon since I'm getting married today. XD

General/Questions / Re: Stallion Spotlight February II: Eighteen Karat
« on: February 19, 2018, 04:14:31 pm »
I have one Eighteen Karat son, a 4-year-old named Archimedes, who I acquired in October. He's been very lightly raced (only 7 starts total), but he placed 2nd and 3rd out of 3 starts both his 2-year-old and 3-year-old years. He has only been raced once so far this year, and that was a win in a 5.5f NW3 dirt. His mother is a daughter of Highland Pride.
