No winners today, but not upset at these girls' performances.

Silver Sparkler (4yo, Formal Occasion) in an Allowance - 12 horse field against some nice mares so I can't complain.

Tottenham Time (4yo, Tottenham Hotspur) in the Tristarc Stakes (Gr. 3) - Very pleased with this mare. After a nice little campaign in Australia she's earned her ticket back to the farm.

Antares (5yo, Formal Occasion) in the Tristarc Stakes (Gr. 3)

Also Rans:
Bungled Conquest (5yo, Slip In The Mud) 7th in an Allowance

Annual 2yo Auction / Re: 2022 2yo auction - How’d you do?
« on: March 13, 2018, 12:49:12 pm »
Got my two top picks, and obviously a couple other horses I don't need but couldn't resist, haha.

Lingering Test
16.0hh Bay Filly by WCh. As You Wish (S) and out of GCh. Deep of the Night (Nightfight). This girl was one of my top picks and I'm interested to see how she'll be considering she is her dam's only foal as of now. Her dam was a multi-millionare and was on the board for all 8 of her stakes races as a 2yo, and remained fairly successful till she was 4. She also has a SW & MSP, 3/4 sibling, Ch. Bringdownthehammer, so I'm really crossing my fingers here. Bought for $1000.

Outspoken Rain
15.3hh Chestnut Colt by WCh. Crystal Rainbow (S) and out of Ch. Rahy's Star (S) (Rahy). My other top pick. Out of his two 1/2 siblings that are racing and not owned by FF, one is a MSW and the other is MSP. His dam did her best as a 2yo, though Crystal Rainbow was a late bloomer so we'll see who this guy takes after. Bought for $50,500.

Addicting Answer
15.1hh Bay Filly by NCh. The Fighting Fifty (B) and out of Always A Hayday (No Duplicate). Mostly picked this girl up because her dam is a daughter of the great Miss Hayday. Currently out of Miss Hayday's 5 daughters with racing foals, 1 is bronze rank, 1 is silver rank, and 2 are gold rank. Hopefully the strong dam line continues to this girl. Bought for $1000.

Breezy Island
15.3hh Bay Colt by NCh. Carrowmore (B) and out of Ch. Not Debatable (What's Debatable). This one I'll admit, it's mostly the name. Especially since a Breezy Island sounds great compared to a nor'easter ridden New England right now ;) Bought for $1000.

Fiery Angel.
15.2hh Dark Bay Filly by ICh. Doodles (B) and out of York Peppermint (B). This filly was a sentimental purchase. When I played FF before, I owned her 1/2 brother, RunRabbitRun, who was one of my favorites. He wasn't a spectacular racer, but almost always brought home a paycheck which was much appreciated. This girl seems like she'll be more of a late bloomer so I'll probably hold off on running her until next year. Bought for $1000.

Just a couple days late, but this is the last of our March babies.

NCh. French Ruby x Ch. Joker's Delight - Created
Bred by Denoux Stud
9.1h dark bay colt

Named for everyone's favorite inspector ;) This colt is 3/4 brother to Cabrette and Joker's Delight will be going to visit Space Chips next.

Better day I was expecting with just two out :)

Crack The Whip (3yo, Gilded Saint) in a NW1 Allowance - I was lucky enough to purchase this filly and one of her 1/2 siblings recently(they're both out of a broodmare I own, Angelic Theory) and I'm very pleased she broke her maiden in her first start. Here's to hoping her other starts with us go this well!

RC Bee lease Divina Commedia (3yo, Unabridged) in a maiden - Only her second start and in a completely packed 14 horse races, so I'm quite pleased with this 5th.

General/Questions / Re: Lasting Spirit Retired

Sad to see him retire, but he has so many wonderfully successful foals that I'm sure his legacy will be represented well. I have one of his SW & MSPs sons who's still running, and two mares in foal to him for next year so hopefully they all do him justice :)

Okay day, mostly excited for our claim today.

Dobies Bight (3yo, Doodles) in a NW3 Allowance - Best SF yet for a win over fences! She seems to still be maturing a bit, so I'm excited to see how she runs with more time.
Locksley's Lady (5yo, Robin Hood) in a claiming race - I didn't have any Robin Hood foals in my stable, and I really liked her dams pedigree so I'm excited to snag her. Hopefully she'll like running for awhile too :)

Blow Smoke (3yo, Blue Smoke) in a maiden

Bohemia (3yo, Created) in a NW3 Allowance
Bridge the Gap (6yo, Unabridged) in an Allowance

Vortex (5yo, Void) in a NW3 Allowance
One Fast Belle (3yo, One Lucky Soul) in a NW2 Allowance
Antares (5yo, Formal Occasion) in an Allowance

Also Rans:
Zodiac Theater (4yo, Galaxy's Zodiac) 9th in an Allowance

Our first perfectly on time foal of the year!

GCh. Naval Commander x Moonlight Garden (S) - Created
Bred by Semiahmoo Stables
9.0h dapple grey colt

Named for a pretty pond plant, this boy is a nice dappled grey like his dam. He's 1/2 brother to Ch. Dahlia, Bird Of Paradise, Ch. Moonlight Song, and I'll be sending Moonlight Garden to Zadar next.

Really nice day out for us, hopefully the ponies keep this momentum going into March :)

Tottenham Time (4yo, Tottenham Hotspur) in a NW2 Allowance - First win of the year after a couple nice places, this girl seems to be hitting her stride :)
Ch. Mirror Magic (4yo, Highland Magic) in the Davona Dale Stakes (Gr. 2) - First start with us since getting her from Shelbie's auction, glad to see her get a stakes win and her Champion title!

Desert Sand (3yo, Dixie Time) in a NW1 Allowance - A recent claimer, it's only his 3rd start so I'm hoping he'll just keep getting better.
Separate Garden (3yo, Blue Ensign) in a Starter Allowance - Basically the same story as Desert Sand, though this was only her 2nd start.

Also Rans:
Hypnotic Channel (3yo, Prince Of Wonder) 7th in a NW3 Allowance
Be Frank With Me (4yo, Frankel) 10th in an Allowance

How'd You Do? / Re: 2/24

Not a bad day considering I was mainly just experimenting with everyone out today.

Minor Scene (4yo, Dr. Evil) in a NW2 Allowance - After idling for awhile and then being in training for a month it's nice she was able to come back and break her maiden.

Aizu (4yo, Demand the Best) in a NW2 Allowance

Take Me Now (6yo, TakeMeToHollywood) in a NW3 Allowance - She's been running OK this year, next outing I'll see if she does better when she's only against other mares.

Secret Chord (3yo, Hidden Destiny) in a NW3 Allowance - Switched over to SC since while he was doing fairly well as a 2yo, he no longer seemed to have any interest in flat racing.

Southern Warrior (5yo, Black Warrior) in an Allowance - Another just switched to SC. It was a pretty large field so I have hope she'll do well with more training before her next start.

Also Rans:
Innovation (6yo, Crystal Rainbow) 7th in a NW2 Allowance
For Pete's Sake (5yo, High Chances) 9th in an Allowance - Can't tell if she's done with running or if I just need to give her a long rest and switch things up.
Antares (5yo, Formal Occasion) 9th in the Rose of Kingston Stakes (Gr. 3) - I feel this was a pretty definitive answer that stakes level turf is a no go for her, haha

It was an all or nothing kind of day apparently. Very happy that some of the 3yos are starting to find their feet though!

Out of Time (6yo, Clockstopper) in a NW2 Allowance - Maybe this older girl's interested in running again now that we've tried fences?
Coastal Cake (3yo, French Ruby) in an Allowance
Swish (3yo, Drum Major) in a Starter Allowance - Finally! Broke his maiden today.
Lethal Spring (3yo, Eighteen Karat) in a NW1 Allowance - Another one that broke her maiden, I just recently purchased her after being inspired by the Stallion Spotlight on Eighteen Karat  :)

Also Rans:
Red Harted Queen (3yo, Ace of Hearts) 6th in an Allowance
No Time to Lose (3yo, Spock) 6th in a Starter Allowance
Ch. At Last Light (5yo, Lasting Spirit) 9th in the Gulfstream Park Breeders' Cup Handicap (Gr. 1) - Apparently he didn't want to get his hooves wet this outing.

No winners today, but at least the 3yos placed! Sending my older ponies back home to rest for awhile.

Court Martial (3yo, Major's Flight) in a NW3 Allowance
Dobies Bight (3yo, Doodles) in an Allowance
Overrated Heart (3yo, Void) in a claiming race - Claimed from FF, this colt has 2 MSW 1/2 sisters so I'm happy to have snagged him.

Tottenham Time (4yo, Tottenham Hotspur) in an Allowance

Also Rans:
Wistful Linen (4yo, What's Your Point) 7th in a NW2 Allowance
Ching Shih (4yo, In The Navy) 8th in an Allowance
Ghost of a Chance (5yo, Brigade) 8th in an Allowance
Divina Commedia (3yo, Unabridged) 8th in a NW1 Allowance - RC Bee lease here, this was her first start so I have to say I'm pleased to see she actually was mid pack in this race and not completely overtaken by the more experienced horses here.

Thanks @Shanthi and @willagrey! I actually ended up rewatching The Usual Suspects again the other night, still just as good :) In other news, a very early colt today. I think this mare was due the end of March if I'm remembering correctly.

ICh. Belanso (S) x Like An Egyptian - GCh. Akhetnaten (S)
Bred by Denoux Stud
8.0h dark grey colt

Named after the Egyptian city, this little guy is still bigger than I was expecting for such an early foal. Mom didn't have an extensive racing career since she broke her leg as a 2yo, so I'll be interested to see how this guy will run in a couple years. Like An Egyptian is off to visit Bellagio next.
