General/Questions / Re: Continuing Stallion Spotlights?

Not opposed to writing about the younger stallions! There's just always less to actually write about, lol. I would be very interested in writing about new stallions who will be retiring soon or recently retired, so would love to hear from anyone who has a racehorse definitely heading to the shed in 2023.

Mares would be interesting. Are we thinking of still-active mares? Platinums? Reine-de-course?

I've never heard of this race, which is a shock for me! Definitely watching the documentary sometime this week.

Also would not be opposed to seeing more G1 chases, or more graded chases in general. :) BC and BS aside, there's only one G1 SC left this year (vs. 24 flat G1 races, not counting BC/BS).

I was curious and took a look, but looks like no one has qualified by age 2 before. A few stallions qualified with one year's races at age 3: King David (14 SW'S at 3), All Jazzed Up (12), Spock (11), As You Wish (9), Drum Major (9), Strike It Rich (9), Prince of Wonder (8 ), Strider (7), and Clockstopper (7).

Closest any horse came was Slip In the Mud with 6 SW's at 2, and All That Jazz managed 5 SW's at 2.

SO amazingly proud of Autumn Red winning the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe! And her stablemate finishing 3rd. Flaming Key also had a nice BC prep in the Beldame. Sort of mixed results from others.

Willa and I have severely derailed on these so I want to take a quick count: do you guys enjoy these? Want to see them return? Things you found useful/want more of/didn't care for/etc.?

Amazing day for us with 7 out and all in the top 3, including 2 SP's.

7(2)-3-3(2)-1-0 $342,000

Littleover Easy (6yo, Candidate) in a NW3 Allowance. I had planned on this being her final race (having just hit 10 lifetime starts) but she won by daylight so she will definitely finish out the year and then I'll see if I still want to race her a little next year before retiring her to broodmare duties.
Playmate (2yo, Demand the Best) in a maiden/her 2yo debut.
Phoenix Cure (4yo, Joyeux Oiseau) in a NW3 Allowance

Successfully claimed Celtic Toy (3yo, Giant's Causeway) in a claiming race.
Ch. Loewe (4yo, I'm No Fool) in the Mercedes Classic (Gr. 1). Extremely happy to see Loewe back in form, and this was her turf debut as well.
Tan Profit (3yo, Mr. Prospective) in the Storm Queen Stakes (Gr. 1). First start with us since we claimed her for 20k back in June. Earned that back!

RC Bee lease Ch. Crown of Nefertiti (5yo, Eighteen Karat) in an Allowance.

General/Questions / Re: Racing Frequency
« on: September 28, 2018, 02:44:54 pm »
Also meant to add: when I first started playing I used races to keep horses fit, so I did race at A/B and managed a few stakes winners. But I still made sure that energy was A, though. I've just had better luck with longer breathers/more training and only entering at A/A.

Then again, the ponies occasionally decide this racing thing is silly and it's much more fun to lag behind and snack along the way.

Still several solid runners and broodmare prospects for cheap! Only reserves left are 5-15k (all weanling/yearling reserves are 5k). Mares DO come in foal, for two for one. ;)

Thanks to everyone who has purchased horses so far!

I have two with Ch. Autumn Red and Ynez Saint Laurent. Both longshots, but I had actually shipped them to England months ago for specific races then forgot to actually enter, so instead of shipping them back home I decided to make something of the overseas trip and sent them on to France. So they've been chilling/training there for a few months, now. Fingers crossed!

Congratulations Wolfhound!

High South (2yo, Silver Wizard) in a NW2 Allowance
Ch. Dream Machine (5yo, Black Warrior) in the Vosburgh Stakes (Gr. 1). Very shocked but very happy, too!

Jedburgh Abbey (2yo, Worthy Victor) in a NW1 Allowance. I think I'm finally figuring him out.
