Godolphin just announced the retirement of Talismanic, who I would LOVE to nominate as a new FF stud. No in-game relatives in his pedigree, and would add some lovely chrome to the FF gene pool I think.

I would definitely be up for seeing Talismanic in the game. His track record might not be quite as impressive as some of the others, but with no in-game relatives to get in the way, that's always a plus. And he's so pretty, too!

2 stakes entries, both wins! Other than some 2YOs who still can't find their feet, I'd say today was a really good day!

Famous Races/Horses / Re: Japan Cup (Nov. 25)
« on: November 12, 2018, 12:58:08 pm »
I've got 2 aimed at the Japan Cup this year. Both are probably long shots, but have shown potential for a good run.

First is Blue Angel Fighter, a 4YO son of Blue Smoke, who won the 8f G1 All Aged Stakes last month with an SF of 310. 12f will the the longest he's ever run, so we'll see if he can handle the distance.

Second is Bon Nuit, a 4YO son of Candidate out of a Lucky Cigar mare, who won the 7.5f ungraded Mohawk Stakes last month with an SF of 232.

Both are lightly raced but bred for a wide range of distances and showing promise, so I'll be interested to see how they run.

General/Questions / Re: 2023 Freshman Stallions
« on: November 08, 2018, 07:15:08 pm »
Of those 5 stallions, I only have 2 representing them.

The first is Klaus Mitffoch (Black Cherry x Love Signal - High on Love), who has 2 wins (both claiming) and a 5th in an NW3 out of 3 starts and is distantly inbred to Highland Rogue.

Second is Whimsical War (City Upon a Hill x Lady Liberty - Starz 'n' Stripes), who has only run twice, bombing her debut but pulling a 5th out of her second run.

Yes! I'd love to see Gun Runner in the game. Justify, meh. We already have a TC winner in the game and I'd rather keep American Pharoah.

Oh for sure! If we're comparing American Pharoah and Justify, I'd choose American Pharoah every time. I just have an obsession with TC winners is all, which is why I'd like to see Justify in the game if it wasn't gonna cost us better stallions like American Pharoah.

I'm 99% sure he was only to race through this year because Shadai bought the stud rights and he's off to Japan for 2019. Gun Runner I don't think we could have since we had his sire and damsire both in FF. Justify I'd be sidestepping for personal reasons, but we only had his damsire in game.

Gotcha. I had seen stuff about him running the rest of the year. Guess I missed the rest of that story. Whoops. Lol. And gotcha. I can understand why the other 2 might not get added. Just a fan of Gun Runner, personally, and would be in favor of Justify since he won the Triple Crown.

Would love to see Gun Runner in the game. Justify, too. I thought Mind Your Biscuits was still running? Or does that matter?

Today was mostly a stakes day for us, and boy did the stakes kids show up! So incredibly proud of this lot!

7(6)-2(2)-2(1)-2(2)-0 $2,297,500

Into The West (4yo, Giant's Causeway) in the Knickerbocker Stakes (Gr. 2) - A recent $20k purchase, this was his first race for us. I had a feeling he had some stakes potential, and I'm really impressed by how well he did.
Ch. Fractal (3yo, Changeling) in the Breeders' Cup Distaff (Gr. 1) - First Sakura Springs baby to reach millionaire status! Looks like the drop in distance made her happy.

Celtic Robyn (2yo, Celtic Star) in a maiden
Ch. Royal Sacred One (4yo, Tottenham Hotspur) in the Breeders' Cup Turf (Gr. 1) - Still can't believe I got this guy for only $1k. What a steal! He is now officially a millionaire.

Ch. Wry Hope (2yo, Formal Occasion) in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (Gr. 1) - Not really surprised this guy struggled a bit after being heavily raced these last few months. Still, 3rd place in a BC race is nothing to sneeze at! He's now officially earned his Ch. title and a nice long rest at the farm.
Ch. Towering Clover (3yo, Edinburgh) in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (Gr. 1) - Also not a bad result for a BC race, but I'm thinking this girl is ready for a vacation. I've been proud of her performance so far this year. She's earned a good rest.

Dread Pirate (4yo, As You Wish) in the Knickerbocker Stakes (Gr. 2)

General/Questions / Breeders' Series 2022 Qualifiers
« on: October 30, 2018, 01:14:14 pm »
I know we're all gearing up for the BC races, but I like to plan ahead for my horses, so I was wondering, at what point will we know who qualifies for the Breeders' Series?

Famous Races/Horses / Re: Breeders' Cup Festival (Nov. 2-3)
« on: October 30, 2018, 12:52:09 pm »
We've got 4 in this year's BC. It's my first chance ever at participating, so win or lose, I'm excited!

Ch. Fractal in the Distaff
3yo filly by NCh. Changeling x Ch. Limelight
1st in the GR1 Acorn Stakes
2nd in the GR1 Go For Wand Stakes
3rd in the GR1 Travers Stakes
She's only #12 on the qualifier list, so definitely a bit of a long shot, but the Distaff drops her back down to a more familiar distance, so hoping she perks up with a slightly shorter run than the last couple ones have been.

Wry Hope in the BC Juvenile
2yo colt by NCh. Formal Occasion x Indy Angela (an A.P. Indy mare)
1st in the GR1 Hopeful Stakes and Futurity Stakes
5th in the GR1 Champagne Stakes
This one's a toss-up. His last run at 8.5f wasn't his best, but working off the possibility of the fact that he was just too tired from his previous runs, he got a break and should be good to go for tomorrow's race. He ranks 5th in this category.

Ch. Royal Sacred One in the BC Turf
4yo stallion by GCh. Tottenham Hotspur x GCh. Princess Kaiulani
1st in the GR1 Turf Classic Invitational
Ranking 11th on the list of qualifiers, this guy is actually pretty new to our stable. Bought him for $1k in July, and he's 2 for 2 since I've owned him. Will be interesting to see if he can keep up with the pack this round.

Ch. Towering Clover in the Dirt Mile
3yo filly by GCh. Edinburgh x Pushin Buttons
1st in the GR1 Mother Goose Stakes and the Ungraded Real Delight Stakes
2nd in the GR2 Saratoga Breeders' Cup
This little girl was a Color War prize from a previous year, and I've been thrilled by her performance this year. At a 50% win rate so far this year, and ranking 6th on the list of qualifiers, it's kinda a tossup how she'll do. Only a total of 5 contenders in this race, but she'll be running against some pretty steep competition, including GCh. Fool To Be Smokin', GCh. Belak, and Ch. Dark Debate.
