So we're having a bit of a slow start, but some good finishes today.

Recent claim Call To Glory came 7th in a 8.5 dirt NW1 allowance. She's been shipped home from Gulfstream.

Another fairly recent claim Calling All Angels came 11th in a 5.0f NW3 allowance. This was her first race with us, so we'll need to do some tweaking.

Tuff Lula came 10th in her 9.0f dirt allowance. Still trying to figure her out.

Now the good stuff ;-) :

Blackberry Rain has some serious place-itis coming in 3rd in a 8.5f turf NW1 Allowance. I'm going to try longer turfs, but I'm thinking she might do well in steeplechase.

In a 12.5f SC allowance Be True and St. Paddy's Man came 1st and 2nd, respectively.

In the 12.0f SC Ungraded Fred Cappy Capossela Stakes, Bold Bourbon and Silver Reve came in 1st and 3rd. I wasn't sure if this race was a good idea, but it worked out well.

I originally didn't want steeplechashers, but now all of my favorite horses chase.  ;D

Three out, four back.

Allouette finally broke her maiden in a 8.0f Turf Maiden.

Liberty Scale came second in a 12.0f NW1 SC. Me and Mr Jones came sixth in the same race. She needs a rest, so she's heading home.

We claimed Darq Challenge who came fourth in his 7.0f SC claiming race. I was waiting for him to be in a claimer :-)

I don't know if anyone here watches hockey or watched the game tonight. Canada vs. USA.

I'm completely and utterly heartbroken.

We lost!

I can't believe it, we scored 2 goals in the last 2 minutes, but they scored in overtime.

Five years in a row. And now we lost.

So sad.

Kind of embarrassing too, since we lost to the Americans (no offense intended, its just Canadian pride ;-) )

Next year boys, next year.

Could I get a Feb 1B spot to Void for Little Miss Chrome?

My first "big" year, I would say. My win percentage was a little higher last year, but I think it went pretty well. Although I am totally addicted to buying horses. I bought 33 horses this year. And sold 1. I need some more freaking will power, haha.

This Year

Races: 247
Wins: 38 (15%)
Places: 34 (14%)
Shows: 27 (11%)
Fourths: 37 (15%)
Earnings: $1,875,950

Races: 397
Wins: 61 (15%)
Places: 49 (12%)
Shows: 49 (12%)
Fourths: 57 (14%)
Earnings: $3,410,500

Top Money earners:

Wild Logo ($366,600)
Be True ($316,500)
St. Paddy's Man ($180,800)

They're all steeplechasers, which I had originally decided I didn't want to deal with, but ironically enough most of my favorite horses are chasers.

Had two out:

Lite the Phoenix came in a disappointing 5th out of 6 in a dirt allowance. He's been rather inconsistent as of late.

Ring the Alarm, a lease, broke her maiden in a SC NW2 allowance, hopefully we'll get another one or two good ones before she goes back home :-)

Questions / Re: Selling horses and taxes
« on: November 25, 2009, 04:25:04 am »
I believe you only pay taxes on what the horse has done/raced with you. So if you sold a horse, you still have to pay taxes on the races run for you.

Three out:
Constant Threat won her second race, a NW3 12f dirt allowance.

Gentle Twilight came in a disappointing 6th, she hasn't been on the board yet, but hopefully we'll find out what she likes.

Recent purchase, La Lune Bleue, won her first race with us, an 11.5f NW3 Turf allowance.

We're on fire in BC too... Fortunately not close to where I am, but so many more fires this year than last year :-(

Good day, three out, 2 wins, one show.

Secretary of State, a fairly recent purchase, won his 7f Allowance on the dirt at Arlington.

Moon Unit came 3rd in his 9f SC Allowance at Woodbine.

Wild Logo won the 11f SC ungraded Yaddo Stakes at Saratoga. This is her 3rd stakes win; after switching to steeplechase she seems to have found her stride, so to speak. :-)

2 out, 3 back:

Dynamic Seven won race number 3, in a 6f Allowance for 2yo with a SF of 143.

Unbridledaffection won his third race this year, in a 12f SC Allowance for 3yo+ with a SF of 122.

I claimed Me and Mr Jones solely on the fact that she is a strawberry roan =) . She came 6th out of 6 in her 10.5f Claiming for 3yo+ F/M, so she's coming home for some rest and then out to steeplechase, I'm thinkin'.
