What's It Worth (P)-Heart of Gold (S), by Mr. Prospector (S)
Rank: Bronze (2.9)
RC Bee - California

2022 fee: $2,500 LFG || Breeders' Cup Nominated

The last stud-qualified son of the mighty What's It Worth out of the multiple stakes producer Heart of Gold, Eighteen Karat is a strapping plain bay who excelled as a turf router but also landed two important 3YO dirt route races - the Belmont Stakes (G1) and the Santa Anita Derby (G1).

Race Record: 61 (39) - 10 (7) - 9(5) - 5(5) - 7(5) - $2,416,000

Belmont Stakes (G1)
Breeders' Stakes (G1)
Santa Anita Derby(G1)
Newcastle Gold Cup (G3)
Grafton Cup (G3)
Labour day Cup (G3)
Queen's Cup (G3)

Through the year 2021, Eighteen Karat has sired 8 stakes winners, of which 3 are multiple stakes winners and 1 is a millionaire. His best runners appear to be late maturing routers indifferent to surface.

Beginning this year, Karat is available to all breeders without requiring my approval.
